14 Jul 2025 Deputy Wallace began an investigation into a burglary in Waterford Township. This case remains under investigation.
18 Jul 2025 Deputy Pugh was dispatched to a report of Ronnie Peters being observed taking a 3 gallon red gas can from the back porch area of a residence in Marietta Township. The value of this can and gas was approximately $10.00. Peters was later seen returning the can, empty. Deputy Pugh attempted to meet with Peters with negative results. A summons will be requested for Ronnie Lee Peters, 114 Dudley Avenue, Marietta, OH, for theft.
19 Jul 2025 Deputy Thornberry responded to Grandview Township to a report of Fred Schwaben assaulting an individual. The subject was in a vehicle when a verbal altercation began. Schwaben had reportedly struck the individual in the back, forcing them from the vehicle. Frederick Lee Schwaben Jr., age 49, 22945 CR 9, New Matamoras, OH, was unable to be contacted. A warrant was requested and issued through Marietta Municipal Court on a charge of domestic violence.
19 Jul 2025 Lt. Hornbeck began an investigation into damage done at the Belpre Twp. Community Building.
20 Jul 2025 Deputy Wallace conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. K9 Mauser conducted a free air sniff around the vehicle and indicated on the rear door. A search of the vehicle yielded methamphetamine. Charges are pending the drugs being sent for testing.
21 Jul 2025 Deputy Davis was dispatched to Waterford Township to conduct an investigation into tools being stolen. This case remains under investigation.
21 Jul 2025 Deputy Groves received a report of a child being bitten by a dog from the Belpre Police Department. On 19 Jul 2025 a juvenile was bitten by a dog receiving small lacerations. Deputy Groves spoke with the owner, Erica L. Brown, 117 Locust Street, Belpre, OH. Brown was advised that she would be receiving a summons for failure to restraint a dog.

Timothy Wayne Cowan, age 54, Belpre, OH, violate protection order, a misdemeanor.
Jason Adam Szakal, age 45, Whipple, OH, kidnapping, felonious assault, disrupting public service and tampering with evidence, all felonies. and domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
Walter Lee Bob, age 22, Athens, OH, speed, a misdemeanor.
James Ryan Andrews, age 40, Little Hocking, OH, fugitive from justice, a misdemeanor.
Jessica Marie Ruble, age 39, Parkersburg, WV, disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.
There are currently 20 women and 88 men incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
