Washington County Sheriff’s Office Drone Unit

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office Drone Unit, established in 2016, is dedicated to enhancing public safety and operational efficiency through the responsible and innovative use of drone technology. The unit provides rapid, accurate, and reliable aerial support for search and rescue missions, crime prevention, disaster response, tactical operations, and situational awareness.

With a foundation rooted in integrity, professionalism, and community service, the Drone Unit utilizes advanced technology to protect lives, preserve property, and support law enforcement efforts. We uphold the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and public trust.

Operating under FAA Part 107 and Part 91 regulations, the unit is staffed by highly trained Sheriff’s Office employees and Reserve Unit personnel with hundreds of hours of flight experience. In addition to providing mission support, the unit regularly conducts public demonstrations to educate and engage people of all ages about the capabilities of drones and public safety.
