3 Jul 2025 Deputy Davis began an investigation into fraudulent checks created against an account and cashed for over $4600.  This case remains under investigation.

3 Jul 2025 Deputy Gerber began an investigation in reference to an Apple iPhone 14 stolen in Dunham Township. 

4 Jul 2025 deputies assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol on a traffic stop in Marietta Township.

5 Jul 2025 while on stationary patrol at State Route 7 and Ellsworth Avenue, Deputy Wallace observed a vehicle bearing OH registration being driven by Chavazze Kidder, pass her location.  Kidder is known to have a suspended license therefore a traffic stop was initiated at 821 Pike Street.  The suspended license was confirmed.  Contact was made with Kidder, the sole occupant of the vehicle.  Kidder had exited the vehicle and opened the hood appearing as if he was working on it before Deputy Wallace could make contact.  Due to Kidder being out of the vehicle, he was asked if he had any narcotics inside the vehicle and he stated no.  Kidder was asked if he would consent to a pat down of his person and he stated yeah and that he had a “rig” in his pocket.  Kidder was instructed to put his hands on the hood of the vehicle so Deputy Wallace could complete a pat down. Kidder stated the “rigs” were capped and he just gives them to friends when they need them.  During the check of Kidder’s left front pocket 4 new syringes were located, and in the tiny front pocket a folded piece of foil was located and removed.  Kidder advised he did not know that was in his pocket. The foil was carefully unfolded and observed inside was a fine powder consistent with fentanyl. The suspected fentanyl weighed 0.24 grams total package weight.  Chavazze Levi Kidder, age 31, 165 Starlite Drive, Lot 8, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of drugs, a 5th degree felony.

5 Jul 2025 Deputies attempted a warrant on Dana R. Seevers in Beverly, OH, Waterford Township.  A male subject opened the camper door and when asked for identification, as deputies were looking for someone that looked like him, gave a fake name.  The male was detained so that his identity could be confirmed.   After the identity was confirmed as Dana Ryan Seevers, age 40, 206 Virginia Street, Beverly, OH, he was placed under arrest on the warrant as well as being charged with obstructing official business.

6 Jul 2025 Deputy Windland responded to Blue Knob Road, Warren Township, regarding Zachory Burdette beating on an individual.  It was reported that Burdette had been physical during a verbal altercation and “choke slammed” her against the wall, impeding her breathing, along with striking her with an open hand.  The victim was able to leave a defensive wound on Burdette while attempting to get away. Burdette denied anything physical claiming it was only verbal.  An injury to Burdette’s neck was visible to Deputy Windland.  Zachory Darrell Burdette, age 35, 3635 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail charged with domestic violence and strangulation.  

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail 10 Jul 2025 to 13 Jul 2025:

Bradley Allen Lightfritz, age 46, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Christopher Allen Ridgeway, age 45, New Matamoras, OH, probation violation, a felony.

Garland Anthony Ritchey, age 48, Belpre, OH, domestic violence and strangulation, both felonies, and unlawful restraint, a misdemeanor.

Christopher Scott Davis, age 34, Parma, OH, driving under suspension, OVI, driving while under the influence, and tail light illumination, all misdemeanors.

Thomas Dean Joy, age 35, Lowell, OH, contempt of court, a felony.

There are currently 20 women and 100 men incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
