1 Jul 2025 Belpre PD Chief Stump conducted a traffic stop on a Jeep near the intersection of Braun Road and State Route 7. Prior to the stop, Detective Ullom observed the vehicle fail to stop at the stop bar at the intersection of Locust Street and Washington Blvd. A tail light violation was observed as well. The driver was identified along with the passenger, Ryan Dye. Det. Peters arrived with K9 Timmy to conduct a free air sniff. K9 Timmy positively indicated on the front passenger’s side door for the presence of narcotics. The driver and Dye were removed from the vehicle. Detectives located a digital scales, multiple plastic bags, and 2 plastic bags containing approximately 46 grams of suspected methamphetamine. After being advised of his Miranda Rights, Dye admitted to possessing the methamphetamine. Ryan Dye, age 40, 113 Crawford Street, Parkersburg, WV, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs.
1 Jul 2025 Detectives were patrolling State Route 7 south bound when they were able to pace a vehicle at 70 mph in a 60 mph zone. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle bearing Alabama registration near the Tower Road intersection. The driver was identified, and the passenger, Javrielle Cooper, and another passenger. K9 Timmy was deployed and conducted a free air sniff around the vehicle giving a positive indication on the front driver door. A search of the vehicle yielded a black zipper bag with approximately 3 baggies of marijuana and a digital scale, belonging to Cooper. Cooper was advised of her Miranda Rights. While speaking with Cooper, detectives advised her that she would possibly be arrested for trafficking in marijuana. Cooper asked detectives if they were recording her and she (Cooper) proceeded to turn the recorder off. Javrielle Divine Cooper, age 21, 1650 Rose View Drive, Columbus, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with tampering with evidence, a third degree felony.
14 Jul 2025 Deputy Groves was dispatched to Stanley Mills Road, Belpre Township, in reference to a dog attacking chickens, and the caller had been bitten by the dog. The caller heard the dogs attacking the chickens and went outside to get the dog out of the pen. The owner of the dog was found to be Timothy J. Nelson, 2728 Newbury Road, Little Hocking, OH, and he will be receiving a summons for failure to restrain.

Jonathan Alan Jones, age 34, Richmond Heights, OH, aggravated burglary, a felony.
Christopher Scott Holder, age 40, Marietta, OH, possession of drugs, a felony.
Bobbie Sue Davis, age 41, Vincent, OH, probation violation, 2 counts, both felonies.
Michael Kristopher Parsons, age 29, Belpre, OH, receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor.
There are currently 22 women and 100 men incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
