29 Jun 2025 Deputies Davis and Gerber responded to Two Mile Run Road, Decatur Township, to a report of Jonathan Angus being present at a residence, threatening the resident. Deputies were advised that there were currently 3 active arrest warrants for Angus. While en route Deputy Davis observed Angus sitting on a bench at the wood line. Upon Angus observing the deputies he began fleeing into the woods. The deputies and K-9 Ivar began pursuing Angus on foot. Angus was given multiple commands to stop running or Ivar would deploy. Angus continued running through the woods until reaching a creek at the bottom of the hill. Deputy Davis continued giving verbal commands to Angus and was able to get Angus to comply with the commands, and he was taken into custody. A search of the area was completed and a glass smoking pipe was located. A search of Angus was attempted, before placing him in the patrol car, at which time he began acting erratic, striking his head multiple times on the cruiser window, and screaming profanities. Control of Angus was gained in order to prevent him from striking his head and he was placed in the patrol vehicle. While attempting to secure Agnus with the seat belt, he continued acting erratically striking his head on the cage of the cruiser. Angus was then removed from the patrol vehicle and placed on the ground in order for deputies to place him in leg shackles. During the transport to the jail Angus continued acting erratic, striking his head on the cage of the patrol vehicle and screaming profanities. Jail staff conducted a search of Angus in which 2.17 grams of suspected methamphetamine was located. Jonathan P. Angus, age 55, 9531 Federal Road, Cutler, OH, was arrested on the three warrants, and charged with conveyance, possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest.
29 Jun 2025 Deputy Gainer and Sgt. Parks responded to State Route 550 in Wesley Township, in reference to a report of Brent Mayle stating he was going to burn a family member’s house down. Contact was made with individuals who reported Mayle asking for food and water, in which they denied his request. Mayle then started threatening to start killing people, stating he was “tired of this.” These threats caused fear in the victim, believing Mayle was going to cause harm. The victim again was advised that Mayle had stated he was going to burn the house down, which made the threat more concerning to her. After meeting with Mayle, he denied making any threatening statements, or threats of burning a house down. Brent Allen Mayle, age 31, 470 King Avenue, Cutler, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence and aggravated menacing.

Chance NMN Schneider, age 27, Bellville, WV, strangulation, a felony, assault and unlawful restraint, both misdemeanors.
Carl Jacob Hecknauer, age 29, Parkersburg, WV, child endangerment and domestic violence, both misdemeanors.
Joshua Mark Whitstine, age 34, Marietta, OH, contempt of court.
Julie Lynn Coe, age 66, Vincent, OH, disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.
There are currently 23 women and 94 men incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
