5 Jun 2026 Deputy Wallace was on patrol near the 6 mile marker, Interstate 77 Muskingum Township when a sedan bearing OH registration was found to be operating with a plate belonging on a Dodge truck.  A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, Jeffery Jones.  Jones was asked for consent to search the vehicle and he advised yes.  Jones stated that if there was anything in the vehicle it wasn’t his.  Once Jones was instructed to exited the vehicle he stated he had it between his legs. Deputy Bush retrieved a glass smoking device and 0.63grams of suspected methamphetamine from the driver’s seat where Jones was sitting. An unknown pill was also located on Jones’ person.  Jones advised the suspected methamphetamine was in fact methamphetamine, once he was advised of his Miranda Rights.  Jeffery Edward Jones, age 62, 736 Greene Street, Marietta, OH, was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with possession of drug and drug paraphernalia.

6 Jun 2026 Deputy Gerber began an investigation into the theft of a wallet and consents.  The items was accidentally left on a gas put in Newport Township. 

6 Jun 2026 Deputy Davis placed Ethan A. Ross under arrest at the Sunoco Gas Station, 18990 State Route 339, Waterford Township.  An active warrant was on file for Ross for domestic violence.  While conducting a search  of Ross, incident to arrest, a glass meth pipe was located in his pants pocket.  Deputies Gerber and Welch began searching the car  Ross was located in at the time of the arrest. Deputy Gerber located a metal tin containing a small plastic bag of suspected meth, which was seized and later found to weigh .34g. While walking Ross to the patrol vehicle an occupant of the vehicle was heard yelling out at Ross for hitting them in the face.  The individual was asked and they stated they were driving the vehicle but pulled over so Ross could drive.  Somewhere between switching seats, Ross hit the victim in the face with the back of his hand while he was driving.   Ethan A. Ross, LKA: 211 ½ Maple Street, Marietta, OH, was arrested on the active warrant and charged with domestic violence and possession of drugs and transported to the Washington County Jail. 

7 Jun 2026 Deputy Gerber began an investigation in Newport Township where a 700 Big Horn Bennche, orange in color, side by side was stolen.   

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail from 24Jun 2026:

Hunter Wayne Dearth, age 23, Arnoldsburg, WV, theft, a felony.

Kurtis Matthew Walters, age 33, Lowell, OH, receiving stolen property, direct contempt and theft, all misdemeanors.

Brent Gregory Farmer, age 50, Waterford, OH, domestic violence, endangering children and violate a protection order, all misdemeanors.

Rachel Elizabeth Cole, age 37, Huntington, WV, speed, a misdemeanor.

Daniel Louis Skodny, age 42, possession of drugs, hidden compartments in vehicle, both felonies.
