25 Feb 2026 Sgt. Augenstein began an investigation into a theft by utilizing another’s debit/credit card.
27 Feb 2026 while patrolling the 2000 block of Blue Knob Road, Warren Township, Det. Sgt. Painter observed a truck with a clouded license plate cover travelling in front of him. A check of the OH registration displayed on the vehicle revealed the plate as expired to Andrew Huck. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Andrew Huck. Huck offered for officers to look through his vehicle in which they obliged while he was looking for his insurance cards. Huck was advised that a check for weapons would be conducted on him. While performing that check, Sgt. Painter felt a foreign object in one of his pockets and asked what the item was, and asked him to show it to officers. Huck produced a cylindrical multi-colored container. Upon inspection of the container a white powder was observed. When asked about the substance, Huck stated it was residue from marijuana. Knowing this was false, Huck was detained and placed in the rear of the patrol vehicle. While searching the vehicle, a spoon was located, which is indicative of drug use with hypodermic needles. Also on the floor of the truck was a black tin, containing a small Ziplock bag with white powder residue consistent with fentanyl. Located also was a smaller bag balled up with the same type of powder inside, and a folded piece of foil, which also had a white powder consistent with the aforementioned finds. Andrew Alan Huck, age 48, 10 Kern Drive, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and advised of his rights. While officers were completing a search incident to arrest they discovered hypodermic needles concealed in Huck’s waist line beneath his belt and pants. When asked why he did not mention the needle, Huck stated he did not know, stating the needles were rolling around on the floor when he was being stopped. Huck stated he picked them up and stuffed them in his waistband. Huck was charged with possession of drugs, a 5th degree felony, and tampering with evidence, a 3rd degree felony. Huck was transported to the Washington County Jail where he remains incarcerated on $17,500 bond.
