22 Feb 2026 deputies assisted with two welfare checks and the subjects were transported by Reno Vol. Fire Dept. Squad for medical treatment.
23 Feb 2026 Sgt. Ullom met with individuals who reported being scammed while attempting to purchase a puppy off of the internet.
24 Feb 2026 while on patrol on I77, Deputy Wallace observed a commercial motor vehicle bearing West Virginia registration, only having one headlight. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Jeffery Jones and passenger. Jones advised he was just pulled over by the Ohio State Patrol just a few miles back but he was aware it was out. A permission to search was obtained from Jones and 2 smoking devices with residue and burnt foil were located. Jeffrey Edward Jones, age 62, 736 Greene Street, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail charged with drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor of the 4th degree. While at the jail the staff asked Jones if he had anything else illegal in/or on his person and he stated no. During the search, inside the jail, 2 Xanax pills were located in his jeans pocket which he advised he was not prescribed. Jones was also charged with possession of drugs, a felony of the 5th degree and conveyance into the jail, a felony of the 3rd degree.
24 Feb 2026 Deputy Davis assisted a resident who had been a victim of identity theft.
24 Feb 2026 Deputy Groves received a call from a resident that the dog at 813 Braun Road, Belpre, was running loose in the neighborhood. 17 Feb 2026 Deputy Groves responded to 813 Braun Road, Belpre, for a dog at large complaint. Deputy Groves met with the residents, co-owners of the dog and a verbal warning was issued to the owners for failing to restrain their dogs. This date photographic evidence was obtained and Deputy Groves arrived on scene and a dog belonging to Aleishia Barber was outside the residence and unrestrained. This dog matched the dog from the photographs. Barber arrived home and helped secure her dog, and was advised she would be issued a summons for failing to restrain her dog, a minor misdemeanor.
25 Feb 2026 at 0435 hours a call for service was received for Center St. Beverly, Waterford Township, regarding a welfare check due to threats being made by Charles Ball. Deputies Wallace and Mays made contact with the victim who stated earlier in the morning Ball had forced entry into the home through the back door, entered the bedroom and woke her by grabbing her hair with one hand and her lower jaw with the other then forced her out of bed and down the stairs into the kitchen. Ball continued with backing the victim into the pantry and moving his hand from her jaw to her neck. Ball made numerous statements of killing the victim if she called family or law enforcement. The victim feared for her safety due to previous acts of violence, specifically 7 Feb when Ball returned to the home after being gone and produced a knife where he then caused a serious laceration to the victim’s wrist that required surgery. Charles Brandon Ball, age 34, 731 Center Street, Beverly, OH, was located in Morgan County and was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington Jail where he was charged with domestic violence, a felony in the 4th degree, strangulation, a felony in the 3rd degree, and felonious assault, a felony in the 2nd degree. As of 27 Feb 2026 Ball remained incarcerated on a $500,000 bond.

Ashley Marie Holdren, age 35, Belpre, OH, probation violation, 3 counts, all felonies.
Chasity Dawn Willey, age 49, Byesville, OH, identity fraud and theft, both felonies.
