SCAM USING WCSO PHONE NUMBER
Today, 1 Jul 2025 the Washington County Sheriff’s Office became aware of at least one call to a Marietta resident. The caller ID was showing 740-376-7070, the WCSO criminal division phone number. The caller advised the resident their name was Deputy Lockhart, and there was a warrant for her arrest for failure to appear on a summons.
Chief Deputy Lockhart is a current employee of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office will not make calls of this manner, stating we have a warrant for your arrest. If you are unsure call our office, and just HANG UP.
