The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a scam involving individuals calling and claiming to represent the “Ohio Sheriffs’ Association” while requesting money or donations.

These calls are fraudulent!

Please do not provide money, credit card information, banking details, gift cards, or any personal information to unsolicited callers. Scammers often use the names of legitimate organizations to gain trust and pressure individuals into making immediate payments.

If you receive a call from someone claiming to be with the “Ohio Sheriffs’ Association” and asking for money, use caution and verify the organization’s contact information independently before making any donation.

If you believe you have been targeted by this scam or provided information to a scammer, contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at (740) 376-7070 ext. 0 and go to IC3.gov and file a complaint.
