​7 Oct 2025 Sgt. Harlow began an investigation into a juvenile being assaulted.  This case remains under investigation.

9 Oct 2025 Deputy Gerber responded to Dollar General, 336 Orchard Drive,  Belpre Township, to a report of a female shoplifting from Dollar General. Video footage revealed the female taking items off the shelf, and putting them in her backpack.  The female was observed placing “Pink Starbucks drinks” in her backpack.  The female, later identified as Lurinda J Forester, 50734 Bigley Ridge Road, Long Bottom, OH, entered the store with the backpack, which appeared empty.  Forester left the store and the backpack appeared to be full.  Forester did pay approximately $40 for items out of the cart, however never took anything out of the backpack to pay for them.  A warrant was requested and issued for Forester on a charge of theft.

9 Oct 2025 Deputy Gerber issued a citation for driving under suspion or cancellation to Arden R. Stewart, 2180 Federal Road, Little Hocking, OH.

9 Oct 2025 Detective Dolly and Detective Peters conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle  with Rebecca Sergeant as a passenger.  The occupants were requested to exit the vehicle and while doing so Jamur Allen was seen reaching towards the floor.  Detectives then ordered Allen to stop reaching and to comply with their orders.  Sergent and Allen were then removed from the vehicle.  A Big Gulp cup was observed on the floor.  In the drink cup was a tied up baggie of suspected fentanyl, (later weighing 73.63 grams). After removing the bag from the cup, a hole was observed in the bag causing the contents to seep into the liquid in the cup.  The cup and liquid weighed 268.89 grams. Rebecca Sergent, 1320 Caywood Road, Marietta, OH, was arrested and charged with trafficking in fentanyl, a first degree felony.  Jamur Leon Allen, age 43, 31 E Maplewood Avenue, Dayton, OH, was arrested and charged with trafficking in fentanyl a first degree felony, and tampering with evidence, a third degree felony.

9 Oct 2025 Deputy Gerber responded to the 5000-B State Route 555, Decatur Township, regarding Ethan Nixon being belligerent and inappropriate towards a female. This occurred at a vehicle crash scene, while the road was shut down.  Lt. Staats was the first to make contact with the driver, Nixon. A distinct odor of burnt marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle.  While speaking with Nixon and his passenger they both admitted to smoking marijuana approximately 2 hours prior.  Burnt “roaches” were observed in the vehicle as well, which they admitted were smoked approximately 2 hours prior. Nixon appeared to have blood shot eyes.  A clear plastic baggie was located in Nixon’s jacket pocket containing 1.82 grams of marijuana. Standardized field sobriety tests were completed poorly by Nixon.  A positive test for THC was obtained from a sample provide by Nixon. Ethan Edward Nixon, age 24, 19 Braun Street, Glouster, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

9 Oct 2025 at approximately 1751 hrs. Deputies responded to Federal Road, Belpre Township, in reference to a male and female fighting in the parking lot and someone laying on the ground.  The subjects were identified and after conducting the investigation Jennifer Renea Ezell, 1472 Braun Road, Belpre, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence.  A portable breath test was administered at the Jail where Ezell tested a .095 at 1925 hours.  

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail 20 Oct 2025 and 21 Oct 2025:

Paula Jean Walker, age 38, Parkersburg, WV, probation violation, 2 counts, both felonies.

Brandon Michael Hall, age 40, Waterford, OH, probation violation, a felony.

Ian Kennedy Lockhart, age 27, Lowell, OH, violate protection order, a misdemeanor.

Jeffrey Grant Wayne Powers, age 27, theft and breach of recognizance, both misdemeanors.

Brian Gregory Jeffers, age 51, Bellaire, OH, contempt of court.

James Albert Lipscomb, age 51, Vienna, WV, possession of fentanyl related compound, a felony.

Douglas Dean Byers, age 48, Glouster, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Ronald Gene Roberts, III age 30, Marietta, OH, passenger no seatbelt, a misdemeanor.

There are currently 19 women and 104 men incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
