29 July 2025 Deputy Groves began an investigation in Barlow Township of an abandoned animal. This case remains under investigation.
30 Jul 2025 at 0328 hours Deputy Thornberry conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Second and Greene Street, Marietta Township, on a Kia Rio bearing Ohio registration due to an equipment violation. After speaking with the driver, it was apparent that he and the passenger in the vehicle were nervous. After gathering the information for the driver, he was asked to exit the vehicle. When asked in reference to any drugs, money or guns that would be in the vehicle he advised there was not. A free air sniff was going to be conducted and upon notification to the passenger, Joy Henthorne, she was seen to have a glass smoking pipe consistent with drug paraphernalia. The glass pipe was recovered and Henthorne admitted to smoking methamphetamine with the pipe. A summons will be requested for Joy Henthorne, 623 Virginia Street, Marietta, OH, for possession of drug paraphernalia.

31 Jul 2025 Sgt. Parks began an investigation into the damaging of a building in Barlow Township. This case remains under investigation.
2 Aug 2025 Deputy Thornberry was advised by dispatch of a possibly impaired driver in a silver van bearing Ohio registration south bound on State Route 339 from State Route 550. Deputy Thornberry located the vehicle traveling south on State Route 339 passing Spence Road committing a marked lanes violation. While continuing to drive south on State Route 339 the vehicle continued to swerve back and forth inside the lane, going approximately ten miles per hour under the posted speed limit. The vehicle then turned left onto State Route 7/US 50 at which time a traffic stop was conducted. Contact was made with Britany Robinson who appeared to be disoriented and lethargic. Robinson was instructed to exit the vehicle and speak with deputies. Robinson advised that she did not have any alcohol, but is on prescription medication. Robinson performed poorly on the SFSTs. Britany D. Robison, 300 Fourth Street, Marietta, OH, was transported to the Ohio State Highway Patrol post for testing. Robison was issued a citation for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
2 Aug 2025 Deputy Talarico and Deputy Wallace were dispatched to Warren Township to a report of a subject’s dog killing the home owner’s dog. This case remains under investigation.
3 Aug 2025 Deputy Talarico was dispatched to Muskingum River Road, Muskingum Township, to a report of Jeffrey Stewart punching the caller in the face. Deputies Talarico and Wallace met with the caller who stated Stewart punched her in the face with his left hand while in an argument. Stewart met with officers and denied that he punched the victim. Jeffrey Allen Stewart, age 51, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail charged with domestic violence.
4 Aug 2025 Sgt. Augenstein was dispatched to Marietta Township to investigate the vandalism of a trailer. This case remains under investigation.
