23 Jun 2025 Deputy Davis performed a traffic stop at 1820 Washington Blvd., Blennerhassett Township. The vehicle was a four door gray hatchback bearing Ohio registration. The driver was identified and the passenger initially gave his name as Michael Fox. K9 Ivar was deployed for a free air sniff around the vehicle. K9 Ivar indicated to the odor of narcotics near the passenger door seam. After securing Ivar in the sheriffs’ cruiser Deputy Davis returned to the passenger side. Upon approaching the vehicle Fox was observed attempting to conceal something between the passenger seat and the center console. The door was opened and Fox was ordered out of the vehicle. Fox was hesitant, however eventually stepped out of the vehicle. Deputy Davis attempted to place him in handcuffs where Fox would not initially place his right hand behind his back after orders to do so. Fox eventually showed his right hand which was holding a clear baggie containing suspected fentanyl along with a folded up dollar bill. Fox placed those items on the seat and was placed in handcuffs. Michael Fox then advised Deputy Davis that his name was actually Tyler. Fox stated there was an active warrant for his arrest, which was confirmed. A search of the vehicle and items Fox had in his hand began. Located between the seat and the center console was a piece of burnt aluminum foil. Also located was a snort straw. Upon inspecting the items Fox had in his hand, the folded up dollar bill contained suspected methamphetamine. The items were seized as evidence and the suspected fentanyl was found to weigh 1.28 grams and the suspected methamphetamine was found to weigh 1.19 grams total package weight. Tyler J Fox, age 36, 2820 Brimstone Road, Coolville, OH, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail charged with possession of fentanyl and possession of methamphetamine.
2 Jul 2025 the Washington County Grand Jury returned an indictment for rape, F1, sexual battery, F2 and gross sexual imposition F4 on James Forrest Mellon II, age 39, 4381 Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta, Ohio.

Jennifer Lynn Maze, age 41, Belpre, OH, forgery and tampering with records, both felonies.
Amy Leander Frame, age 53, Little Hocking, OH, felonious assault and domestic violence, both felonies.
Justin Ryan Schroeder, age 43, Wingett Run, OH, 2 counts aggravated trafficking in drugs, and aggravated possession of drugs, all felonies.
Kayla Maye Rogers, age 36, Chesapeake, OH, possession of fentanyl related compound, a felony.
Christopher Shawn Kimble, age 32, Parkersburg, WV, theft and receiving stolen property, both felonies.
Ryan Adam Dye, age 40, possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs, both felonies.
Heather Don Carter, age 41, Marietta, OH, possession of drugs, a felony.
There are currently 20 women and 103 men incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
