‍30 Sept 2026 while working at the Washington County Jail, Sgt. Skidmore was made aware of damage to a vending machine located in C-Dorm. The safety brackets of the vending machine had been severely damaged and two were completely broken.  Video footage was reviewed and it was found that on 29 Sept 2026 at approximately 1123 hours Inmate David Michael Basham used his left shoulder to ram the vending machine in an apparent attempt to assist another inmate in retrieving an item that had become stuck inside the machine. Once he rammed the vending machine, it was observed that the entire machine become dislodged from its secured location, and several inmates gathered to look at the damages. After completing the investigation Sgt. Skidmore filed charges of vandalism on Basham, age 47, 809 Fifth Street, Marietta, OH. 

 4 Oct 2026 Deputy Huck began an investigation into a theft in Belpre Township.

5 Oct 2026 Deputy Welch began an investigation into medication being stolen from a client’s prescription bottle.

5 Oct 2026 while on patrol on Washington Boulevard, Blennerhassett Township, Deputy Wallace observed a vehicle pull out of the storage units lot and turn down Ohio Blvd. and pull off.  Deputy Wallace made a consensual encounter with the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Angela Bonar, and the passenger, Jessica Lawrence. Bonar stated they were having car trouble which is why they pulled off.  Consent was granted to search the vehicle and Deputy Wallace located a small cellophane baggy with 0.32 grams tpw of suspected methamphetamine in Lawrence’s purse. A metal container with 1.39 grams of suspected methamphetamine was located on the floorboard behind the driver’s seat. Both subjects were read their Miranda Rights and both occupants stated the cellophane baggy in the purse was her (Lawrence) methamphetamine, however neither took ownership of the metal container.  Angela M Bonar, age 46, 584 Goddard Road, Cutler, OH, and Jessica D. Lawrence, age 42, 1029 Carriage Hill Drive, Athens, OH, were placed under arrest and charged with possession of drugs.  Both subjects were transported to the Washington County Jail.

Baxter Lee Grimes, age 50, homeless, aggravated murder - premeditated, attempted murder, aggravated burglary, 2 counts felonious assault, 3 counts theft without consent, tampering with evidence 3 counts, and burglary, all felonies.

Kameron Lane Wilkins, age 27, Waterford, OH, OVI alcohol, drug of abuse or both, driving under suspension, and turn and stop signals, all misdemeanors.

Mason Travis Tomlin, age 20, Glouster, OH, possession of drugs, a misdemeanor.

Harmoni Treonte Harris, age 26, Akron, OH, probation violation, a felony.

Jerry O’Neil Cousins, Jr., age 50, Vincent, OH, no operator’s license and contempt, both misdemeanors.

Tiffany Ann Wilkes, age 40, Volga, WV, 3 counts probation violation, all felonies.

Jessica Dawn Lawrence, age 42, Athens, OH, possession of drugs, a felony.

Angela Marie Bonar, age 46, Cutler, OH, possession of drugs and probation violation, both felonies.

Brent Alan Bennett, age 41, New Matamoras, OH, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

Jordan Laron Davis, age 22, Akron, OH, driving under suspension and no seatbelt, both misdemeanors.
