12 August 2026 a charge of fugitive from justice was filed on Inmate Stephane Paul Combs, 2413 S 82nd Street, Tampa, FL, for a warrant out of Wood County, WV.  The warrant is for five counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

12 August 2026 Deputy Welch began an investigation into a school laptop being stolen in Belpre Township. 

12 August 2026 Pleasants County Sheriff’s Office made contact with dispatch requesting assistance in a pursuit that had entered Washington County.  Pleasants County had the vehicle stopped near the 39000 block of State Route 7, Newport Township.  The vehicle was operated by Carlee Barnhart, 211 Morris Loop Road, Marietta, OH.  K9 Ozna was deployed by Deputy Tucker, and a positive indication was given.  A glass smoking device with residue and a silver capped cylinder with crystal like residue were located in the vehicle. Barnhart was transported to the Washington County Jail on a charge of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ernesto Antonio Gomez, age 60, Marietta, OH, 2 counts attempted murder, 2 counts aggravated assault and felonious assault, all felonies.

Matthew Dean Staats, age 58, Parkersburg, WV, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

David Russell Reuse, age 43, Lower Salem, OH, passing bad checks, a misdemeanor.

Jeremy Grant Halley, age 34, West Columbia, WV, theft and breach of recognizance, both misdemeanors.

Cheyenne Michelle Hayes, age 22, Palestine, WV, aggravated trafficking in drugs, trafficking in a fentanyl related compound, and possession of drugs, all felonies, possession of drugs, a misdemeanor.

Darnell Christopher Charles Wilson, age 19, Marietta, OH, domestic violence and probation violation, both misdemeanors.

William Patrick George, age 33, Parkersburg, WV, grand theft, a felony.
