​​24 May 2026 Deputy Gerber was on patrol in Marietta Township. A traffic stop was initiated on a gray Hyundai bearing OH registration.  A citation was issued to Jamie M. Wagner, 725 ½ Front Street, Marietta, OH, on a charge of space between vehicles violation.

25 May 2026 Deputy Gainer was dispatched to Seevers Road, Newport Township, to a report of two dogs killing two cows.  The owner of the cows stated he located one cow that was injured (later dying) and the dogs were attacking another one of his cows. The dogs were covered in blood and fecal matter from eating on the cows. Both dogs were transported to the HSOV where they were secured. On 26 May 2026 Deputy Groves responded to 1289 Newells Run Road, Newport, OH, and spoke to Amy and Jeremy Dye.  Both Dyes admitted that both dogs belong to them and one had been missing for approximately 4 days. They were advised of the violation and the cow attack.  A summons is being requested for Amy Dye on a charge of failing to properly confine and/or restrain dogs.

26 May 2026 at approximately 1725 hours Deputy Huck was dispatched to 3685 State Route 676, Wesley Township, in reference to a report of Jayden Potter beating on an individual with a walking stick.  Potter was observed by witnesses pushing the victim to the ground and repeatedly striking the individual. Another individual locked themselves in a vehicle, in fear of what Potter may do to them. Potter approached the vehicle and began striking the windshield with the stick.  It was reported that neither individual provoked Pottery.  Wesley VFD was called to the scene to administer aid.  Potter admitted to his actions and was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail charged with domestic violence, 2 counts.

Zachary Tyler Hearn, age 29, Little Hocking, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Kendall Lee Dewey, age 57, Westion, WV, fugitive from justice, a misdemeanor.

Eric Kevin Cullum, age 35, Vienna, WV, aggravated menacing, menacing by stalking, domestic violence, all misdemeanors, felonious assault and 2 counts strangulation, all felonies.

David James Thompson, age 41, Parkersburg, WV, complicity to theft, a misdemeanor.

Maxwell Eugene Lassiter, age 58, Walker, WV, driving under suspension, a misdemeanor.

James Nemo Lee Croston, age 49, Chesterhill, OH, theft from a disabled adult, a felony.

Jonathan Dee Toohey, age 51, Marietta, OH, no operator’s license, a misdemeanor.
