31 Jan 2026  Deputy Wallace, while on patrol on Greene Street, Pioneer Township, observed a vehicle with a poorly lit registration and white light emitting from the rear driver’s side taillight. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle bearing an OH registration. The vehicle was occupied by three individuals, one of which being Ronnie Hodge, 708 Front Street, Apt. 23, Marietta, OH.  Hodge was searching for his wallet in the rear of the vehicle, however provided a social security number instead.  A warrant was found on file with Vienna PD, Vienna, WV, on a charge of failure to appear on fraudulent use of a credit card.  Hodge was detained while a search of the vehicle was conducted due to paraphernalia located inside the vehicle.  With the assistance of the Marietta Police Department, an officer approached Hodge in the patrol car and upon Hodge moving suspected methamphetamine and a torn baggy were seen on the seat under Hodge.  Hodge was less than cooperative and when told to step out of the cruiser he slid his rear across the seat in what appeared as another attempt to destroy the methamphetamine even further. The methamphetamine was collected and weighed 0.86 grams total package weight.  Also located behind the passenger side front seat was Hodge’s wallet. Before Hodge was transported to the Jail a check of his wallet was made to ensure there was no illegal contraband inside.  As Deputy Wallace unzipped a pocket in his wallet, she located 0.78 grams of suspected fentanyl.  Hodge was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was charged with possession of drugs and tampering with evidence.  Hodge was also held on the warrant out of West Virginia.
