Full Circle Recovery and Washington County Career Center Aspire Program Donate Laptops and Educational Support to Washington County Jail’s I.G.N.I.T.E. Program
Marietta, Ohio — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce a generous donation of 10 laptop computers from Full Circle Recovery, along with continued in-person instruction from the Aspire Program at the Washington County Career Center, to support the I.G.N.I.T.E. program at the Washington County Jail.
I.G.N.I.T.E., which stands for Inmate Growth Naturally and Intentionally Through Education, provides incarcerated individuals with access to GED preparation, life skills training, recovery education, and job readiness instruction. With these laptops, participants can engage in secure digital learning, complete coursework, and begin building the foundation for long-term success.
I.G.N.I.T.E. represents the educational foundation of Sheriff Mark Warden’s broader vision for rehabilitation within the Washington County Jail. Complementing this initiative are additional support programs, including comprehensive inmate assessments, one-on-one peer recovery sessions, group peer recovery meetings, and structured reentry planning. Since most county jail inmates eventually return to their communities, these programs are designed to work together—offering the tools, guidance, and support needed to promote long-term success after release.
Peer support services are provided by certified volunteer peers from Oriana House, Peer Solutions, Full Circle Recovery, Washington County Job and Family Services, and Washington County Behavioral Health.
Importantly, the education provided through I.G.N.I.T.E. doesn’t stop at release. Individuals can continue their coursework online after reentering the community, allowing them to stay on track and build a better future.
Sheriff Warden shared his long-term vision for the program:
“I.G.N.I.T.E. is just the beginning. We want education to continue beyond our walls. The same online program that starts here in the jail can be accessed when participants return to the community. It’s not just about serving time; it’s about building a future. We all want these individuals to return to their communities as productive members of society.”
This important expansion of resources has been made possible at no cost to taxpayers. Both Full Circle Recovery and the Aspire Program have provided these donations and services entirely free of charge, demonstrating a strong community commitment to second chances, rehabilitation, and public safety
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office extends its sincere appreciation to both organizations for their partnership and ongoing investment in the transformation of lives through education.
In addition to Aspire and peer recovery efforts, the I.G.N.I.T.E. program continues to grow by building partnerships with behavioral health providers, Job and Family Services, and private sector employers. The initiative is also endorsed by the National Sheriffs’ Association as a leading model for jail-based education and reentry preparation.
