9 Oct 2025 deputies were dispatched to a 911 hang up call from Grandview Township.  When asked about the call, it was reported that an argument was taking place with Brandon Eales.  Eales had shoved the complainant during the verbal altercation, knocking her to the ground.   A warrant was requested and issued for Brandon Michael Eales, age 28, 705 Second Street, New Matamoras, OH, on a charge of domestic violence.  Eales was arrested on 14 Oct 2025 and transported to the Washington County Jail.

11 Oct 2025 Deputy Bush began an investigation into fraudulent currency being passed at a business in Marietta Township.

11 Oct 2025 deputies along with the Reno Volunteer Fire Department Squad responded to an unresponsive subject in Marietta Township.

11 Oct 2025 Deputy Thornberry was dispatched to Moss Run Road, Lawrence Township.  The residents had received mail stating they owed money on a credit card, which they had not been using.  After investigating the issue, the victim discovered that Lisa M. Slagle, who was in the home, removed a wallet with contents, and went into another room.  Deputy Thornberry’s investigation revealed the charges were for Washington County Jail phone calls.  Both victims reported never allowing Slagle to utilize their credit card.  A warrant was requested and issued for Slagle, Marietta, OH, on a charge of theft.

12 Oct 2025 Deputy Welch was dispatched to Blue Knob Road, Marietta, OH, to​ a  break in at the storage buildings.  This case remains under investigation.

13 Oct 2025 Deputy Thornberry, while on patrol on I-77 near the 3 mile marker, observed a gray 2014 Honda Civic bearing WV registration, with an expired registration, later found to be fictitious.  A traffic stop on the vehicle driven by Benjamin Comer, was conducted.  Comer appeared to be concealing something near the bottom side of the steering wheel.  The occupants were removed, including passenger, David Snyder.  Snyder claimed that the vehicle belonged to him and gave us permission to search the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed what appeared to be a pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine under the steering wheel where Comer appeared to be concealing something. In addition, burnt foil and a snorting straw consistent with drug usage was found in a bag in the rear passenger seat. Both Snyder and Comer denied the paraphernalia belonged to them.  Later contact was made with the actual registered owner of the vehicle.  The owner verified this was her vehicle and that it was stolen and she was about to report it to the Charleston, WV, police.  David A. Snyder, age 39, 1260 Greenbrier Street, Charleston, WV, was charged with drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property.  Benjamin D. Comer, age 45, 1986 Long Meadow Drive, Charleston, WV, was placed under arrest and charged with drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence.

13 Oct 2025 Deputy Talarico began an investigation in Fairfield Township of a burglary.  This case remains under investigation.

Janie Dawn Wise, age 50, Wingett Run, OH, aggravated trafficking, a felony.

Taylor Anthony Hendrickson, age 29, Marietta, OH, aggravated arson and arson, both felonies.

Matthew John Queen, age 39, Belpre, OH, probation violation, a felony.

Natasha Maye Putnam, age 36, Coolville, OH, probation violation, a felony.

Michael Lee Nichols, age 27, Marietta, OH, possession of drugs, a felony.

There are currently 20 women and 96 men incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
