15 Sept 2025 at approximately 2027 hours Deputy Tucker responded to Blake Street, Muskingum Township, to multiple calls of people fighting. Deputy Tucker observed through the front window of the residence two subjects and the male had his arms wrapped around the victim's neck, choking them, and yelling at them. Deputy Tucker immediately tried to open the door, which was locked. Deputy Tucker beat on the window and got the attention of the male subject, still choking the other individual. The male was ordered to come out and was then detained. The male was identified as Gavin Earley. He stated the two were at this location and he was doing some work on the residence. Earley stated the two began to argue at which time the other subject began breaking items in the house and slapped him. Deputy Tucker brought up to Earley what he had witnessed through the window with Earley responding “I know”. After completing the investigation it was determined that Gavin Gregory Earley, age 32, 1110 Williamson Avenue, New Matamoras, OH, would be placed under arrest and charged with assault.
16 Sept 2025 Deputy Groves began an investigation into a dog bite incident in Pioneer Township.
16 Sept 2025 Deputy Talarico and Deputy Davis were dispatched to Palmer Township, SR 676, to a report of one subject being kicked out of a residence and their belongings being placed outside. The two subjects were in an argument, and officers responded to the same address the previous evening with warnings of disorderly conduct charges if we returned for the same reason. 16 Sept 2025 at approximately 1354 hours Deputy Norris was dispatched to County Road 9, Newport Township, to a report of Jennifer Barth being at the location and making threats. Deputy Derkin and Deputy Tullius responded as well and found Barth walking on County Road 9 near Jett Hill Road. Deputy Norris and Gerber arrived on scene approximately 5 minutes later. Barth stated that she and another individual were in an argument because she was told not to come back to the residence, however she still showed up. Barth was asked if anything had gotten physical with anybody there and she stated no, just verbal arguing. Barth was asked if any threats were made, she again stated no. Barth was detained while other subjects were interviewed. It was reported that Barth had been gone for 3 or 4 days and randomly showed up. Barth was then told to leave and she became upset. When other subjects exited the house, Barth threw a rock at them and made the comment “I will smash your head in while you’re sleeping”. The subjects advised that they did fear for the safety of their family. Jennifer R. Barth, age 39, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transport to the Washington County Jail.
16 Sept 2025 Sgt. Harlow began an investigation into possible child endangering.
16 Sept 2025 Sgt. Parks was dispatched to 77 West Branch Road, Decatur Township, to a report of an unknown male subject coming into the Florence Creamery business, stealing milk and money. At 1732 hours a male subject gets out of a grey Chrysler sedan and goes into the business. The male takes 2 gallons of milk from the cooler and then proceeds to document what he was taking, and how much money he was supposed to leave. The male is then observed acting like he is getting money out of his wallet, and then proceeds to take a sum of cash that was within his reach. The male then takes the money and the milk and leaves. The male was later identified as Dillon Gage Anderson. Anderson sent several messages through Facebook Messenger to Florence Creamery apologizing for what he took, and he wanted to make things right. A warrant was requested and issued for Anderson, 2987 Dutch Ridge Road, Parkersburg, WV, for breaking and entering and theft, and he was later arrested.
16 Sept 2025, at approximately 2344 hours Deputy Tucker, while on stationary patrol near the 8-mile marker of Interstate 77 SB, Muskingum Township, observed a grey station wagon accelerate its rate of speed after passing by him. Deputy Tucker attempted a catch up to the vehicle, where the subject continued traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver of the vehicle took exit 6, turned onto State Route 821, then turned right onto Arends Ridge Road. The grey station wagon continued to drive at a high rate of speed as it appeared to be attempting to elude Deputy Tucker. Deputy Tucker initiated his emergency lights on Arends Ridge Road near the intersection of State Route 60, Muskingum Township. The grey station wagon proceeded to roll through the stop sign and turned left into a gravel lot ultimately coming to a stop. Deputy Tucker was able to read the registration at that time and was advised of the name of the vehicle owner. As Deputy Tucker exited the patrol cruiser, the male driver, Sony Love, exited the driver side of the grey station wagon, and proceeded to drink something out of a can while facing Deputy Tucker. Love was ordered to get back into the driver seat of the vehicle. Love pulled the keys out of the ignition and continued to drink out of the can, which was found to be Busch Light. Love was tipping back the Busch Light as Deputy Tucker approached the driver side and asked him to get out of the vehicle. Love started to resist the commands as he was being pulled out of the vehicle. A short struggle ensued on the ground behind the vehicle as Love continued to physically resist. Love was eventually placed in handcuffs and was secured. A passenger with Love was identified and advised that Love became very agitated after talking to someone on the phone, which is when he picked up his rate of speed. The passenger asked to be let out and stated Love came back to his senses after he realized the deputy was behind him. Sony Carlos Love, age 43, 15728 SR 821, Elba, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with kidnapping, obstruction, driving under suspension, resisting arrest, open container and disobeying a traffic control device.
17 Sept 2025 Sgt. Huffer was dispatched to 10200 State Route 60 (Dollar General), Adams Township, to a theft complaint. Sgt. Huffer was advised the theft occurred on September 16, 2025. After reviewing camera footage, store employees observed the female suspect, later identified as Rebekah J. Roach, on surveillance cameras putting 3 containers of wine in her purse and leaving the store without paying for them. Roach was located and admitted to taking 3 containers of wine and a few children’s toys. The total value was $43.33. A summons is being requested for Roach, 512 6th Street, Lowell, OH, for theft.
18 Sept 2025 Deputy Welch began an investigation into a missing person. The subject was located unharmed.

Richard Lee Foster, age 56, Hilliard, OH, forgery, a felony.
Dwayne Johnny Craig, age 64, Columbus, OH, forgery, a felony.
Buddy Allen Miller, age 51, Marietta, OH, aggravated trafficking in drugs, 2 counts, and trafficking fentanyl related compound, all felonies.
Robert Christopher Tabor, age 39, Marietta, OH, disorderly conduct and restrictions on depositing litter on public property, both misdemeanors.
Jessica Marie Biehl, age 30, Marietta, OH, possession of drugs, a felony, endangering children 2 counts, both misdemeanors.
Marie Lynn Powell, age 31, Marietta, OH, possession of drugs, illegal conveyance of weapon, tampering with evidence, all felonies, and contempt of court.
There are currently 20 women and 104 men incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
