3 Jun 2025 Deputy Welch began an investigation into a prescription drug being stolen. This case remains under investigation.
4 Jun 2025 Deputy Norris issued a citation to Steven Tewkesbury, 49 Sandhill Road, Marietta, OH, for improper passing.
4 Jun 2025 Sgt. Parks recovered a chainsaw and can of gas from a resident who had found the items along the roadway outside of Washington County. These items had fallen from a tree company vehicle and were returned to the owners.
9 Jun 2025 at approximately 0310 hours Sgt. Stillson was leaving the scene of an investigation conducted by the Belpre Police Department. A black Buick Encore bearing WV registration was observed disregarding the traffic control device, which was displaying a solid red light, at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and State Route 32, Blennerhassett Township. A traffic stop was conducted and a citation for disobeying a traffic control device was issued to Melissa D. Clegg, 1011 Broadway Avenue, Parkersburg, WV.
9 Jun 2025 Deputy Britton began an investigation into a possible failure to notify the Sheriff’s Office of a change of address, due to the sex offender registry. After conducting the investigation it was determined that this case was unfounded.
10 Jun 2025 Deputy Gerber responded to 660 Stapf Road, Waterford Township, regarding a vehicle parked on neighboring property. Deputy Gerber had previously been to the area on a similar incident. After conducting the investigation it was determined that a summons would be requested for Fred and Gerald Mason. A charge of obstructing official business and disorderly conduct was filed on Gerald C. Mason, age 63, and a charge of disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing was filed on Fred Mason, age 90,
11 Jun 2025 Sgt. Stillson was on patrol on I77 at the 2 mile marker. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle and Brandon Scott Walters, Whipple, OH, was issued a citation for driving without an operator’s license.
The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail 12 June 2025 and 15 June 2025:
Robert Dale Bauer, age 60, obstructing official business, a misdemeanor.
James Dale Evans, age 33 Portland, OH, breach of recognizance, probation violation, theft without consent and littering, all misdemeanors, and possession of heroin, a felony.
Jessica Marie Biehl, age 30, Marietta, OH, tampering with evidence, 2 counts grand theft, all felonies, assault and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors.
Elizabeth Ann Morris, age 35, Scio, OH, driving under suspension, a misdemeanor.
Jeffrey Scott Sydenstricker, age 55, Stockport, OH, failure to reinstate OL and speed, both misdemeanors.
There are currently 19 women and 100 men incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
