6 Jun 2025 Deputy Welch began an investigation into a dog bite incident in Belpre Township.
6 Jun 2025 Deputy Thornberry was dispatched to Marietta Township to a report of a domestic violence incident where a physical altercation began with Donald Forrester. In speaking with Forrester, it was advised that he was in a verbal altercation and that the victim grabbed him and threw him to the ground. He stated he lost consciousness and that’s all he remembered. In speaking with the victim, who had minor injuries to her person, she advised a verbal altercation with Forrester began after she asked him to take the animals out. Forrester then came to the victim and punched her with a closed fist numerous times. Forrester lost his balance upon throwing the last punch. Medical personnel were called by the victim due to Forrester passing out. Based on the information received, Donald Ray Forrester, age 67, Marietta, OH, was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with domestic violence.
7 Jun 2025 at approximately 0142 hrs. Deputy Pugh was dispatched to 660 Corner Road, Waterford Township, to a report by Enigma Moore that Josie Boyd was intoxicated and having some issues. Boyd advised that Moore struck her in the face and choked her until she could not breathe. Noticeable injuries to Boyd and Moore were noted. Moore admitted to slapping Boyd, however she only wrapped her arms around her. Moore stated Boyd kicked her as well. When asked about her injuries and Boyd’s injuries, she stated it was from the previous day where they were choking and holding each other away by their throats. Josie Elizabeth Boyd, age 24, and Enigma Laith Moore, age 22, were both placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail charged with domestic violence and strangulation.
7 Jun 2025 while on stationary patrol at State Route 7 and Products Lane, Deputy Wallace observed a Ford Ranger pass with a white light emitting from the rear of the vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated in the 26000 block of State Route 7, Marietta Township. Contact was made with the driver/only occupant, Corey Poynter, who provided an ID card from West Virginia. Poynter was asked if he had a suspended license and he stated he was not however dispatch advised his license was revoked. Poynter was advised that he could not drive from this location and would need to contact a valid driver to pick him up. Poynter began to text a number and the reply “do not call me again” was observed. Poynter then advised Deputy Wallace of the name of the individual en route. In checking with dispatch, it was learned that the subject en route to pick up Poynter had the name first name and date of birth as a protected party in a TPO. A pat down was conducted of Poynter and an ankle monitor was detected. Poynter stated he was on probation with the City of Marietta Probation Department. Poynter was detained due to the reasonable suspicion that his ride was the same as the protected party. Poynter also allowed Deputy Windland to review his messages which confirmed these two subjects were in fact the same individual. Corey David Poynter, age 45, Marietta, OH, was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with violation of a protection order.
8 Jun 2025 at approximately 0048 hours Deputy Pugh was dispatched to meet with a subject reporting a domestic incident that occurred earlier in Muskingum Township. It was reported that Khalil Young had slammed on the breaks in the automobile, reached over and struck the victim in the face with the back of his hand, while they were driving. A witness to the incident reports that Young continued to try and strike her, however the victim was pushing him away. A warrant was requested and issued through Marietta Municipal Court for the arrest of Khalil J. Young, age 26, 807 Neal Street, Parkersburg, WV, on a charge of domestic violence.
8 Jun 2025 Deputy Welch and Lt. Hornbeck assisted the Belpre Police Department with a trespassing issue.
There are currently 19 women and 107 men incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
