11 Aug 2025 Deputy Pugh began an investigation into stolen credit cards in Lawrence Township
11 Aug 2025 Deputies along with the Beverly Waterford Emergency Squad responded to the scene of a deceased individual in Waterford Township.
11 Aug 2025 Deputy Thornberry responded to a report of an open door at a vacant residence. A breaking and entering report was generated.
11 Aug 2025 Deputy Groves was advised by the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley that a dog had been removed from the shelter without permission. Michael Hamersley, a volunteer at the shelter, removed a dog from the shelter that was scheduled to be euthanized, due to aggression and multiple dog bites. Hamersley advised that he believes the dog was not aggressive and wanted the dog to be saved. Deputy Groves spoke with Hamersley who stated God told him to save the dog and that the dog is not aggressive. Hamersley was advised to return the dog before midnight to keep from having theft charges filed against him. 12 Aug 2025 it was discovered that Hamersley had not returned the dog to the shelter. A warrant is being requested through the Marietta Municipal Court for Hamersley, age 50, Byesville, OH, on a charge of theft.
11 Aug 2025 Deputy Thornberry was on patrol near the intersection of SR 7 and Virginia Street, Marietta Township when he observed a 1995 Chevy Tahoe bearing WV registration driving with a fictitious registration. After conducting the traffic stop it was discovered that the driver, Tony Russell, 904 Swann Street, Parkersburg, WV, was operating the motor vehicle with a suspended license due to a non-compliance suspension. Subsequently, a citation for driving under suspension was issued to Russell.
11 Aug 2025 Deputy Thornberry assisted at a traffic stop near the intersection of Pike Street and Electra Avenue, Marietta Township. Deputy Thornberry was advised that Jessica Hogan had committed a marked lanes violation and turn signal violation. Hogan had a glass pipe resembling drug paraphernalia in plain view. It was observed that Hogan was talking very fast and had a hard time holding still, as well as being disoriented. Hogan performed poorly on SFSTs. Jessica Hogan, age 36, Wilmington, NC, was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
12 Aug 2025 while on patrol at Gilman Avenue at Stone Street, Pioneer Township, Deputy Thornberry observed a vehicle bearing OH registration commit traffic violations. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver. The driver was asked for his driver’s license, which he struggled to retrieve due to his hands shaking. As this transpired a canine officer responded and a free air sniff was conducted on the vehicle. An alert was given by the canine and while searching the vehicle, a handgun was located along with drug paraphernalia, and a bag with .84 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Michael J. Bond, passenger, age 38, 3306 Central Avenue, Parkersburg, WV, was placed under arrest and charged with having weapons under disability and possession of drugs. Bond was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

Shawn Randall Britton, age 36, Marietta, OH, possession of drugs, a felony.
Deshawn Marqui Tatum, age 30, Akron, OH, trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin, trafficking in a fentanyl related compound, aggravated possession of drugs, all felonies.
Dustin Michael Omspach, age 43, Lowell, OH, possession of drugs, a felony.
Jessica Dawn Drake, age 37, Belpre, OH, aggravated possession of drugs, 2 counts, aggravated trafficking in drugs, 2 counts, and fugitive from justice, all felonies.
Samantha Josephine Somers, age 36, Marietta, OH, obstructing justice 2 counts, 1 misdemeanor and 1 felony.
Alexandra Katherine Perry, age 39, Marietta, OH, falsification, a misdemeanor and tampering with evidence a felony.
Mars Harold, age 20, Waterford, OH, criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.
Anthony Montel Blackmon, age 26, Jackson, MS, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, prohibitions concerning companion animals, abandoning animals.
Charles Earl Kelly, age 78, Marietta, OH, pandering sexually oriented matter involving a juveniles, and possession of marijuana, both felonies.
Austin Guin Dotson, age 28, Marietta, OH, expired plate, a misdemeanor.
Marc Lewis Jaeger, age 57, Marietta, OH, aggravated possession of drugs, and aggravated trafficking in drugs, both felonies.
David William Mowery, age 53, Fleming, OH, intimidation, a felony, 2 counts aggravated menacing, 2 counts criminal damaging, all misdemeanors.
Thomas Edward Metcalf, age 40 , Cutler, OH, parole violation and violate a protection order, both felonies, having weapons under disability and violate a protection order, all misdemeanors.
Nicole Lynn Cline, age 39, Marietta, OH, possessing drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
There are currently 19 women and 94 men incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
