21 Jul 2026 at approximately 0117 hours Deputy McElroy responded to Water Street, Adams Township, to conduct a criminal damaging complaint. The caller stated that victims were inside their home and heard loud bangs at the door. At one point the door casing broke and the door came open and the victim could see outside. A male subject was observed fleeing the area. Further investigating revealed the identity of two juvenile males. A request is being made for charges of criminal damaging and criminal trespass to be filed on the two juveniles in this case.
21 Jul 2026 Deputy Thornberry began an investigation regarding a victim purchasing a Green Dot bank card and upon using the card found it to have a zero balance.
22 Jul 2026 Deputy P Brockmeier began an investigation into a vehicle being spray painted in Grandview Township.
22 Jul 2026 Deputy Welch was on patrol in the Fearing Township area where the area of SR 821 was closed due to high water. A traffic stop was made on a subject that drove past these road closed signs. Mary Knoch, State Route 821, Whipple, OH, was issued a citation for prohibition against driving upon a closed highway.
23 Jul 2026 deputies along with Warren VFD personnel responded to the scene of a deceased individual.
23 Jul 2026 Deputy Welch began an investigation into a stolen trailer. Later it was discovered that a family member had the trailer.
23 Jul 2026 Deputy Welch was on patrol and dispatched to Dunham Township in reference to a possible domestic incident. It was discovered that a juvenile had been striking the adult(s) in the home. The juvenile was transported to the Washington County Juvenile Center and charges of domestic violence are pending.
23 Jul 2026 deputies began an investigation into stolen posts belonging to the Washington County Engineer’s Office in Warren Township. It was reported a short time later that the posts had been returned and all had been accounted for.
23 Jul 2026 while on patrol on State Route 7 at Joe Skinner Road, Deputy Wallace observed a vehicle bearing OH registration fail to signal 100 feet prior to changing lanes, cutting off a motorcycle. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, Ryan Patel. A warning was given to Patel and he left the area. A short time later dispatch advised that a protection order was on file with Patel being the subject of the order. Deputy Wallace made contact with Patel and his earlier passenger in Belpre, OH. It was confirmed that the passenger was in fact the protected person. Patel was asked for consent to search the vehicle, in which he ignored the question. Patel was detained for violating a protection order and K9 Mauser was deployed. A positive indication was given by Mauser. Located inside the vehicle was 2.81 grams tpw of suspected methamphetamine. Ryan L Patel, 1604 Division Street Extension, Parkersburg, WV, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail for possession of drugs and violating a protection order.
24 Jul 2026 Deputy Thornberry began an investigation into a boat motor stolen from Dunham Township. The motor was recovered and returned to the owner.
24 Jul 2026 deputies were attempting an arrest warrant on Jared Sampson. While en route to the listed address, a black Chevrolet Silverado bearing Ohio registration, matching identifiers of Sampson’s registration was observed failing to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection of Sand Ridge Road and McNeal Road. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, who was identified as Jared Sampson. Documentation was collected from Sampson and an open beer can was observed in the center console. Additionally beer bottles were located on the front passenger seat, as well as a strong odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. Sampson, 938 Sand Ridge Road, Waterford, OH, was placed under arrest on the active warrant and was charged with open container.
25 Jul 2026 deputies along with the Warren VFD personnel responded to the scene of a deceased individual.
26 Jul 2026 at approximately 2114 hours Sgt. Parks was dispatched to the intersection of State Route 676 and Tabor Ridge Road, Wesley Township, to meet with Wesley Township squad members. A male subject had been found laying in the middle of the roadway and the squad had been called. Upon Sgt. Parks making contact the subject was sitting and leaning against his car. The subject, identified as Edward Roberts Kruse Jr., stated he had drank approximately six beers prior to leaving his residence tonight, and had nothing to drink while driving. An open bottle of Coors beer was observed in his center console, with beer in it, an empty bottle of Heineken, and an empty Heineken six pack box were located in the vehicle. Kruse was unable to stand on his own, and seemed to have a difficult time understanding what was taking place. Kruse, age 78, 13173 Concord Church Road, Glouster, OH, was transported for medical treatment and will be summoned into court on a charge of open container.
27 Jul 2026 Deputy Welch began an investigation into a stolen Stihl trimmer in Wesley Township.
27 Jul 2026 Deputy Thornberry was conducting patrol near State Route 550 and State Route 339, Barlow Township when he observed a black Honda civic bearing a fictitious registration. As the driver continued on they were operating approximately 5 mph under the speed limit and swerving back and forth in the lane. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver continued on. Deputy Thornberry then turned on the siren to get the attention of the driver, who eventually stopped on SR 550, Fairfield Township. Multiple empty beer cans were observed by Deputy Thornberry behind the passenger seat. In speaking with the driver, Timothy Gibson, an odor of alcoholic beverages was immediately detected. When asked if he had anything to drink today he stated that he did not. It was requested of Gibson to exit the vehicle and stand at the front of the patrol vehicle. The odor of alcohol was detected on Gibson’s person as he spoke with Deputy Thornberry. Gibson was informed that standard field sobriety testing would be conducted and he stated he was not going to do any tests. He was then asked to do a preliminary breath test, and refused that as well. Gibson was then advised that he would be under arrest for suspicion of OVI. Timothy E. Gibson, 12306 SR 329, Stewart, OH, was transported to OSP Post 84 to conduct a breath test. Gibson completed the test with his BAC being .122. Gibson was transported to the Washington County Jail charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
28 Jul 2026 deputies along with the Warren VFD personnel responded to the scene of a deceased individual.
28 Jul 2026 while Deputy Welch was on patrol was dispatched to 27830 State Route 7, Marietta Township, in reference to Enad Rawahneh conveying drugs into the facility. A charge of illegal conveyance was filed on Rawahneh, 1863 Lockbourne Road, Columbus, OH, and he was transported to the Washington County Jail.
28 Jul 2026 Deputy Bush began an investigation into a possible burglary in Warren Township.
29 Jul 2026 at approximately 1949 hours Deputy Mays responded to Belpre Township in reference to a report that Michael Carson, 1142 Farson Street, Belpre, was drunk, belligerent, and had an open wound on his head from falling. It was reported that Carson had been drinking and hit his head on the deck of his mower. An attempt was made to help Carson however he pushed them away and began yelling at them. Contact was made with Carson who was sitting on the back porch. When asked numerous times what happened to his head Carson was unable to comprehend the question or give a complete recount of the events leading to his injuries. EMS were dispatched to the scene and Carson made multiple attempts to stand up. Carson eventually was able to stand up and attempted to jump over the banister of the porch. Carson was transported for medical treatment. At approximately 2200 hours Carson’s family called 911 advising Carson had left the hospital and began walking up the road towards his home. Michael D. Carson, age 55, was located and placed under arrest for disorderly conduct after he was advised numerous times to cease and desist. Carson was transported to the Washington County Jail where he submitted to a PBT with the results being .192.
