4 Jul 2026 Sgt. Huffer was dispatched to Browns Road, Marietta Township, in reference to a report of Allan Worstell closing the door while the complainant was trying to move furniture in/out.  Worstell repeatedly shut the door, and the last time an attempt to open the door occurred Worstell attempted to close the door and a shoving match ensued.  During the shoving match Worstell struck the complainant on the face with a closed fist.  The complainant stated she felt Worstell was trying to hurt her.  Worstell stated that there was a shoving match between the two but he did not punch her.  When asked if it could have been an accident, he was not able to remember.  Allan S. Worstell, 320 Browns Road, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence.  Worstell was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

4 Jul 2026 Deputy Groves responded to Waterford Township to a report of a dog biting a juvenile. 

4 Jul 2026 Deputy Groves responded to Marietta Township to a report of a dog biting an adult. 

4 Jul 2026 Deputy Wallace was dispatched to Grandview Township, New Matamoras, OH, to a female caller stating a Ryan Carpenter was there and was on drugs and out of control.  Deputy Wallace arrived and observed the front door open and a male, identified as Ryan Carpenter, walking down the stairs, sweating profusely and acting jittery.  Carpenter stated he was not overdosing but did a “hot rail.” Deputy Wallace located a line of suspected methamphetamine weighing 3.85 grams tpw., a snorting straw and burnt foil on a stand in Carpenter’s bedroom.  Ryan E. Carpenter, 204 2nd Street, New Matamoras, OH, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail on a charge of possession of drugs.

5 Jul 2026 Deputy Wallace was dispatched to Adams Township in reference to a subject breaking out windows out of a trailer and truck. 

6 Jul 2026 at approximately 1358 hours a call was received stating that Gavin Rummer was in a fight with an individual.  It was reported that Rummer would not allow the individual to leave the residence in Adams Township.  Also noted was that the victim was “beat up” the previous day.  Deputy Tucker arrived at the residence in question and the victim and Rummer were sitting on the steps to the residence.  The victim appeared to be crying and Deputy Tucker asked the victim to step away and speak with him.  It was reported to Deputy Tucker that at approximately 1300 hours the previous date she came back from work.  The victim stated an argument started between her and Rummer.  The argument apparently got to the point where she wanted to leave and when she attempted to leave Rummer would not let her, and he grabbed her bag of belongings and kept it from her. The victim states she reached for the bag and accidentally hit Rummer while doing so. At this time Rummer struck her 2 times, once on the left arm, leaving a bruise.  The argument eventually led to the bed where Rummer proceeded to get on top of the victim and using both of his hands choked her for approximately 10 seconds leaving petechia on the left side of her neck above her collar bone. The victim was screaming for help during the argument and altercation.  Rummer then left and came back sometime in the night.  On 6 Jul the victim woke and a verbal argument ensued with Rummer.  The victim called a family member who in turn called law enforcement. 
Rummer stated there was an argument yesterday however he did not remember exactly what for.  He stated the victim punched him in the mouth while going for her bag of belongings, and he had to hold her down after that.  He stated when the argument was over, he went to a friend’s house and ultimately returned home waking up to the argument reoccurring today.
Gavin M. Rummer, 135 Vanfossen Road, Lowell, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with strangulation and domestic violence.  Rummer was transported to the Washington County Jail.

10 Jul 2026 Deputy Groves was dispatched to State Route 550, Warren Township, to a report of two dogs running loose.  Upon arrival Deputy Groves met with the caller who advised the dogs were under a vehicle and were the same dogs that had recently attacked and killed chickens.  The dogs were observed running away, along the creek bed, and were recognized by Deputy Groves as those dogs as well.  Other calls had been received reference these dogs running loose.  Contact was made with William J. Berg, 515 Silverglobe Road, Marietta, OH, who advised the dogs belonged to him.  Berg was advised to go look for the dogs and that a summons would be issued for animals at large due to the number of previous calls and damage done by the dogs.  

6 Jul 2026 Deputy Huck responded to Stony Run Road, Waterford Township, to a report of an individual, known to the victim, breaking into their residence.  Numerous items were removed from the garage/home area as well as damage done to property. 

6 Jul 2026 Deputy Gainer responded to Waterford Township to a report of Dana Seevers trespassing on property at 2nd Street, Lot 3.  Seevers had left the area prior to law enforcement arriving.  Seevers came to the property and attempted to enter after the owner opened the door.  The two then began shoving each other before Seevers left.  Seevers had previously been trespassed from the property in May, 2026, by the Beverly PD.  Seevers was unable to be located therefore a warrant is being requested for the arrest of Dana Ryan Seevers, 3307 Righteous Ridge Road, Waterford, OH, on a charge of trespassing.

6 Jul 2026 at approximately 2255 hrs. Deputy Huck was dispatched to State Route 821, Muskingum Township, in reference to an employee at ParMar reporting three females fighting in the parking lot. Deputy Huck met with Kylee Stull and another subject. It was also reported that there was an issue with Miley Thomas. After completing the investigation it was determined that a summons would be requested for Kylee Blanch Stull, 1690 CR 78, Amsterdam, OH, and Miley Renee Thomas, 1948 SR 3, Richmond, OH, on a charge of disorderly conduct – fighting.

7 Jul 2026 Lt. Augenstein began an investigation in Wesley Township regarding identity fraud.    

7 Jul 2026 Deputy Mays began an investigation in Wesley Township regarding the theft of tools from a truck bed.   

7 Jul 2026 at approximately 1943 hours Deputy Huck responded to a residence on Muskingum River Road in Muskingum Township, in reference to an individual at the property to retrieve property that had been stolen from them by Randal Lee Wagner. 
During the process, the victim noted her vehicle tires were flat and a canine corpse was on top of her vehicle.  Wagner had become upset when he was not informed of the canine passing and the individual moving.  The canine had died and was buried in June of 2026. According to the individuals at the scene, Wagner dug the canine’s corpse out of its grave on July 5, 2026, and had been observed carrying the corpse.
Contact was made with Wagner on 6 Jul 2026 due to the burglary investigation, requesting Wagner return the property to which he stated he would.  Wagner also contacted the deputy on 7 Jul confirming he was in the process of arranging to get the property returned.  The items Wagner stole include multiple keys to various farm equipment and other items, specifically a Kubota tractor key.
Deputy Huck observed a box with a lid on top of the victim’s vehicle.  The lid contained the canine corpse with a set of keys, confirmed to be those to the Kubota tractor.  The valve stem to the vehicle in question previous appeared to have been cut.  A warrant is being requested for Randall Lee Wanger, age 67, 10130 SR 60, Lowell, OH, on a charge of intimidation of a witness, menacing by stalking and criminal damaging.  The warrant was requested and issued for Wagner and on 9 Jul 2026 Wagner was arrested on the warrants.

8 Jul 2026 Deputy Gerber was patrolling the 4000 block of Veto Road, Dunham Township, when he observed a gold 200 Buick LS bearing Ohio registration commit several marked lanes violations.   A traffic stop was initiated and the driver identified as Jerry O. Cousins, 65 Church Street, Vincent, OH.  Cousins currently has no valid driver’s license.  A citation was issued to Cousins for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.

8 Jul 2026 Deputy Davis began an investigation in Newport Township in reference to the theft of catalytic converters being removed from company vehicles.   These are valued over $500.
