​3 May 2025 Deputy Groves was advised of a dog bite incident in Newport Township.  On 3 May a subject was walking along the roadway near 38290 State Route 7.  Deputy Groves spoke with the victim and was advised that a dog from that residence bit and chased him while he was walking.  The dog reportedly left the property and then ran around the Newport Fire Department before returning home.  Contact was made with Michelle Maston who stated that the subject was walking along the roadway near her yard when her dog left the vehicle it was in and proceeded to chase and bite him.  Maston stated the dog then left the property and ran around the fire house before returning home.   A summons is being requested for Maston, 38290 State Route 7, Newport, OH, for failure to confine and/or restrain dogs.

12 May 2025 Deputy Groves began an investigation into a dog attacking a subject on the west side of Marietta on 9 May. The dog, belonging to Kaylee D. Russell, 320 Harmar Street, Marietta, OH.  The victim advises that while a dog from 320 Harmar St​reet was attacking her dog, she was bit while on her property by a second dog.  The victim did not attempt to break up the dog fight.   Russell met with Deputy Groves and advised her dogs are registered, however they are not current on rabies immunizations.  Russell was advised of the quarantine process and admitted to her dogs attacking the individual and her dog.  A summons is being requested for Russell for failure to confine and/or restrain dogs.

20 May 2025 Deputy Wallace was dispatched to Waterford Township to a report of threats made by Joseph Hesson.  Apparently Hesson had made a post on FB advising he was going to fight someone.  Further text with Hesson and the caller revealed he was reportedly going to beat up others as well.   After completing the investigation a warrant was requested and issued through Marietta Municipal Court for the arrest of Joseph Hesson, last known address being 703 Silver Globe Road, Marietta, OH, on a charge of menacing.

19 May 2025 Sgt. Stillson was dispatched to Waterford Township to the Family Dollar.  It was reported that Lisa Henthorne had been stealing items from the store.  Store personnel were able to view camera footage showing Henthorne placing items into a purse she was carrying.  Henthorne was located and she acknowledged she just left the Family Dollar.  She initially denied stealing, however eventually advised she had.  Lisa Mae Henthorne, 205 Third Street, Beverly, OH, was placed under arrest for theft.

23 May 2025 detectives were patrolling the area near State Route 60 and State Route 83, Waterford Township, when they observed a 2019 Volkswagen bearing Ohio Registration with dark tinted front windows.  A traffic stop was attempted on the vehicle, however the driver continued to travel until reaching 204740 SR 60, approximately ¾ of a mile from where the emergency lights were activated. The detectives met with the driver, identified as Christopher Drayer.  Drayer was observed making motions toward the back ​seat of the vehicle while in the driver’s seat.  K9 Timmy was deployed to conduct a free air sniff around the vehicle.  K9 alerted with a positive indication on the vehicle.  Drayer was asked to step from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed two large baggies, one weighing approximately 28 grams and the other weighing approximately 28.07 grams of white powder were located.  Detectives used a calibrated window tint meter, which measured the VLT of the driver’s window at 17%, which is below the legal minimum of 50% VLT for front side windows per ORC.  Christopher Eric Drayer, age 55, was placed under arrest and charged with trafficking in cocaine and possession of cocaine.  Drayer was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.  Drayer appeared in Marietta Municipal Court and is being held on $200,000 bond + PR.

Carrie Esther Maine, age 42, Athens, OH, probation violation 2 counts, and 2 counts possession of drugs, all felonies.

Jeffery Darshawn Law II, age 29, Akron, OH, aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, both felonies.

Matthew Thomas Sandy, age 42, Reno, OH, parole violation, a felony.

Christopher Eric Drayer, age 55, Beverly, OH, possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs, both felonies.

Kayla Lachelle Wallace, age 31, Belpre, OH, 2 counts possession of drugs, possession of heroin, misuse of credit card, theft from a disabled adult,  and 2 counts breach of recognizance, all felonies.

Corey Garrett Kidd, age 45, Marietta, OH, rape, a felony.

Cody Joseph Brooker, age 26, Waterford, OH, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

Randall Wayne Delancey, age 61, Waterford, OH, 2 counts probation violation.

Destiny Dawn Wilkinson, age 25, Beverly, OH, complicity to agg possession of drugs, a felony, and possession of drug abuse instruments, a misdemeanor.

Michael Alan Hanning, age 46, Stockport, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Timothy Brandon Neader, age 40, Marietta OH, domestic violence, 2 counts, both misdemeanors, and strangulation, a felony.

John William Dearing, age 46, Marietta, OH, theft, a felony.

James Clinton Bartimus, age 52, Vincent, OH, aggravated trafficking in drugs, 2 counts, and having weapons while under disability, all felonies.

There are currently 18 women and 94 men incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
