26 Aug 2025 Brian Keith Hadley, age 55, 105 Chestnut Street, Belmont, WV, was arrested by the West Virginia State Police on a charge of fugitive from justice from the State of Ohio, on a felony of the 3rd degree theft charge.

9 Jul 2025 the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau began investigating fraudulent expenses made through Ergon Inc., 35020 State Route 7, Newport, Ohio. Fraudulent expenditures had been located, which were made by Brian Hadley prior to him being let go from Ergon Inc. where he worked as the Marietta Terminal Manager.

An extensive investigation revealed that Hadley had made fraudulent expenditures totaling in excess of $900,000 since 2019. The items purchased include but are not limited to, equipment rentals, firearms, motorcycles, farm equipment, hunting and fishing equipment, and more.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the West Virginia State Police, Pleasants County Prosecutor’s Office, Washington County Prosecutor’s Office, Marietta Police Department, Athens County Sheriff’s Office, Noble County Sheriff’s Office, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Southeast Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Washington County Engineer’s Office, and Perry and Associates CPA’s, when search warrants were executed at Hadley’s residence at 105 Chestnut Street, Belmont, WV, and at his farm located at 4325 Rock Run Road, St. Mary’s, WV.
