Cold Weather Warning
From the National Weather Service..Gusty winds developing this morning will be strongest over the higher ridges of the northeast mountains later this morning through this afternoon. Wind Advisories remain in effect for Northwest Pocahontas and Southeast Randolph counties from 8 AM through 7 PM today.
Cold Weather Advisories have been upgraded to Cold Weather Warnings for the higher ridges of the northern mountains of WV, and the rest of the Cold Weather Advisories have been expanded down the WV mountains, and back across much of the lowlands. All are in effect for this evening into Tuesday, for wind chills of -12 to -22 over the higher mountainous terrain, and -6 to -12 most elsewhere.
We are also watching for the potential of another arctic outbreak next weekend, this time with the possibility for accumulating snow.
