During the first session, Citizen Academy participants received an introduction to the Sheriff’s Office from Sheriff Mark Warden, followed by an overview of the finances from Fiscal Officer Pam Bates.
For Session 2, Chief Troy Hawkins and Major Kevin Carr took participants on an informative behind-the-scenes tour of the Washington County Courthouse and the Sheriff’s Office Civil Division.
Along the way, participants learned about the courthouse’s rich history, heard about past cases, and enjoyed personal memories shared by both Chief Hawkins and Major Carr.
With six more sessions to go, there’s plenty more to see and learn! We look forward to sharing more updates as our Citizens Academy continues.
