27 May 2026 charges of fugitive from justice were filed on Lorenzo Travis Martin, age 30, 274 Front Street, Marietta, OH, an inmate at the Washington County Jail. The charges stem from an arrest warrant out of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Barren County - Circuit Court, for possession of a controlled substance.
27 May 2026 deputies along with the Little Hocking Vol. Fire Department responded to the scene of a deceased individual.
27 May 2026 Deputy Talarico filed charges of fugitive from justice on Darris Paul Wriston, age 43, 863 Peaceful Valley Drive, Cottageville, WV, due to an active warrant out of Mason County, WV. Wriston was processed into the Washington County Jail.
27 May 2026 deputies along with the Beverly Waterford Squad responded to the scene of a deceased individual.
27 May 2026 charges of fugitive from justice were filed on Cleveland Jeff Bedgood, 415 Hawlet Street, Lockport, NY, a current inmate in the Washington County Jail. The charge stems from a warrant out of Circuit Court of Wood County, WV, for two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, one count of conspiracy to commit possession of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, and one count of maintaining a dwelling for using, keeping, or selling controlled substances. Bedgood was processed into the Washington County Jail.
28 May 2026 Deputy Groves began an investigation into a dog bite on Elm Street, Belpre, OH.
29 May 2026 deputies responded to Dye Street, Newport Township to a report of Darla Schafer threatening harm to another with a knife. Schafer had left the home traveling south on State Route 7. Deputy Bush conducted a traffic stop on Schafer near Ingram Road on State Route 7. Sgt. Ullom met with Schafer who admitted to threatening the victim with the knife. Sgt. Ullom met with the victim, who again reported being threatened with a knife. Schafer was reported to have held the knife in her hand and threatened harm to the victim. The victim then fled the home and called law enforcement. Schafer was advised of her rights and she again confirmed threatening the victim by holding a butcher knife in her hand and told him that she would cut his penis off. Schafer was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence and aggravated menacing.
