On 27 Apr 14 the Caldwell Fire Department transported
an eighty-three year old Macksburg resident to Marietta Memorial
Hospital for treatment to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Depressed
over his failing eyesight, the victim attempted to take his
own life by shooting himself in the chest with a shotgun. The
victim was calm and alert when emergency personnel arrived and
subsequently underwent surgery for non-life threatening injuries.
He was last listed in stable condition (132).
On 27 Apr 14 Sgt. Anderson and the Beverly-Waterford
Fire Department were dispatched to a brush fire in the vicinity
of 1370 McNeal Road, Waterford. The fire, the origin of which
is unknown, covered a large area and spread to possibly three
properties. No structures or personal property were damaged.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Tyler James Irish, age 18, 157 Ivy Lakes Drive,
Saint Johns, FL, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor.
Irish was arrested on Putnam Street by Patrolman Wenzel of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 27 Apr 14 at 12:47 am.
Mark Aaron McIntyre, age 32, 123 1/2 Pleasant
Street, Morgantown, WV, for a felony charge of theft and for
misdemeanor charges of theft, nonsupport of dependants and violating
the terms of his probation. McIntyre was arrested in Marietta
by Patrolman Harlow of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Apr 14 at 2:16
Jacob Matthew Shaffer, age 26, Marietta, for
violating the terms of a protection order and for failure to
appear, both misdemeanors. Shaffer was arrested on Fourth Street
by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Apr 14 at 8:05
