On 20 Apr 14 Deputy Sheriff Augenstein and
the Warren Fire Department were dispatched to a fire outside
Eveready Battery at 2036 Blue Knob Road, Marietta. Employees
at the company noticed smoke emanating from a dumpster that
morning and attempted to extinguish it but were unsuccessful.
The fire’s origin does not appear to be suspicious in
nature and could have been caused by an exploding used aerosol
On 20 Apr 14 Victoria Henthorn, age 29, 865
Dodd Run Road, Marietta, reported her live-in partner, Kristin
Noland, age 23, slapped her in the face and was destroying items
throughout the home. The dispute continued for a short while,
then Ms. Noland fled. Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff
Augenstein requested a warrant for Ms. Noland for domestic violence.
On 20 Apr 14 Deputy Sheriff White responded
to the scene of death of an eighty-eight year old Lower Salem
resident. The woman’s death appears to be due to natural
causes; no foul play is suspected.
On 20 Apr 14 Freddy Staats, age 48, 9085 State
Route 550, Vincent, reported his live-in girlfriend, Kassie
Cress, age 44, had been consuming alcohol, was upset and destroyed
some lawn furniture. Ms. Cress subsequently left the residence
driving a black vehicle. Deputy Sheriff McConnell encountered
Ms. Cress’ vehicle on State Route 550 and conducted a
traffic stop. Noticing an odor of alcohol about Ms. Cress, Deputy
McConnell administered field sobriety tests. Following her poor
performance on the tests, Ms. Cress was arrested for OVI and
transported to the Washington County Jail.

Kassie Marie Cress, age 44, 9085 State Route
550, Vincent, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Cress was arrested on
State Route 550 in Barlow by Deputy Sheriff McConnell and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 14 at 4:04 am.
Tiffany Dawn Cone, age 30, 58 Cherry Street,
Sistersville, WV, for disorderly conduct by intoxication. Cone
was arrested on Fifth Street in Beverly by Lt. Rhodes of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 14 at 11:32 pm.
Benjamin Dale Francis, age 34, 307 Clay Street,
Sistersville, WV, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Francis was arrested
on Fifth Street in Beverly by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 20 Apr 14 at 11:53 pm.
