On 20 Apr 14 Deputy Sheriff Augenstein and the Warren Fire Department were dispatched to a fire outside Eveready Battery at 2036 Blue Knob Road, Marietta. Employees at the company noticed smoke emanating from a dumpster that morning and attempted to extinguish it but were unsuccessful. The fire’s origin does not appear to be suspicious in nature and could have been caused by an exploding used aerosol can.

On 20 Apr 14 Victoria Henthorn, age 29, 865 Dodd Run Road, Marietta, reported her live-in partner, Kristin Noland, age 23, slapped her in the face and was destroying items throughout the home. The dispute continued for a short while, then Ms. Noland fled. Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Augenstein requested a warrant for Ms. Noland for domestic violence.

On 20 Apr 14 Deputy Sheriff White responded to the scene of death of an eighty-eight year old Lower Salem resident. The woman’s death appears to be due to natural causes; no foul play is suspected.

On 20 Apr 14 Freddy Staats, age 48, 9085 State Route 550, Vincent, reported his live-in girlfriend, Kassie Cress, age 44, had been consuming alcohol, was upset and destroyed some lawn furniture. Ms. Cress subsequently left the residence driving a black vehicle. Deputy Sheriff McConnell encountered Ms. Cress’ vehicle on State Route 550 and conducted a traffic stop. Noticing an odor of alcohol about Ms. Cress, Deputy McConnell administered field sobriety tests. Following her poor performance on the tests, Ms. Cress was arrested for OVI and transported to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:
