Archive of 04-13-14

On 13 Apr 14 Nathan J. Thomas, age 37, 16000 State Route 821, Macksburg, reported the driver of a red pickup truck exited his vehicle on his property and pointed a large silver handgun at him. Mr. Thomas said he has not had any recent problems with anyone and he did not recognize any of the other individuals in the truck. This case remains under investigation (126).

On 13 Apr 14 Deputy Sheriff McGilton requested summonses for April Smitley, age 41, and Scott Smitley, age 42, both of 1250 Bethel Road, Marietta, for failing to confine/restrain their dog. A neighbor of the Smitleys reported their dog chased her as she was mowing her yard and caused her to fear for her safety. Deputy McGilton warned the Smitleys to confine their dog two days earlier because of another incident involving their pet.

On 13 Apr 14 a clerk at the Country Corner Grocery, 2346 State Route 550, Cutler, reported the driver of a gold Dodge pickup truck backed into and caused minor damage to a gas pump. This case remains under investigation (610).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Rocky Sammy Sandlin, age 53, 407 Lord Street, Marietta, for two misdemeanor counts of child endangering. Sandlin was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Harlow of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Apr 14 at 12:46 am.

Curtis Carman Lowers, age 42, 6370 N. Buttermilk Hill Road, McConnelsville, for a felony charge of possession of drugs and for misdemeanor counts of possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lowers was arrested on State Route 60 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Apr 14 at 1:35 pm.

Justin Andrew Garretson, age 26, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Garretson was arrested in Beverly by Patrolman Schaad of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Apr 14 at 10:54 pm.
