On 9 Apr 14 Michael J. Pryor, age 36, 120 Mitchell Drive, Newport, reported he has not seen or heard from his son, Corey, age 20, since the morning of 4 Apr. This case remains under investigation (113).

On 9 Apr 14 a twenty year old New Matamoras resident reported he received a number of threatening text messages that were accompanied by gruesome photos that were intended to be threatening. The victim said he was not threatened by the messages and stated he only wanted the sixteen year old suspect to be counseled about his behavior.

On 9 Apr 14 William A. Collins, age 65, 49995 State Route 7, New Matamoras, reported at some point during the past week an unknown suspect(s) stole a four year old air compressor from his unattached garage. Mr. Collins valued the air compressor at $350. This case remains under investigation (500).

On 9 Apr 14 Deputy Sheriff White and the Grandview, Little Muskingum and Newport fire departments responded to a brush fire around the 18500 block of County Road 9 in Grandview Township. Workers tending a well in the area noticed the fire appeared near an AEP pole approximately 100 yards from the roadway in a wooded area. No property was damaged.

On 9 Apr 14 Sgt. Mankins arrested Eddie M. Houseworth Jr., age 45, 5805 Millers Run Fallen Timber, Lucasville, OH, for .08 breath OVI, speeding, operating a vehicle without a license and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel. Sgt. Mankins stopped Mr. Houseworth on State Route 7 near Blue Knob Road after noticing he was traveling well above the speed limit and had crossed over the centerline on multiple occasions. While questioning the driver, Sgt. Mankins noticed Mr. Houseworth slurred his speech and was unsteady on his feet. Mr. Houseworth subsequently performed poorly on a series of field sobriety tests. At the Washington County Jail, Mr. Houseworth tested .106 BAC.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Lonnie Merle Starcher, age 46, 325 Stimpson Avenue, Athens, for two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct by intoxication. Starcher was arrested in Beverly by Patrolman Oliver of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Apr 14 at 12:43 am.

James Donald Whitfield, age 20, 1905 Oak Street, Parkersburg, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Whitfield turned himself in to Corrections Officers and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Apr 14 at 3:29 pm.

Danielle Nicole Oliver, age 23, 240 Francis Road, Lowell, for driving under a suspended license and for not wearing a seat belt, both misdemeanors. Oliver was arrested on Francis Road by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Apr 14 at 4:03 pm.

Tramaine Lee Coleman, age 35, 1206 Barton Place, Canton, for possession of drugs, a felony. Coleman was picked up at the Stark County Jail by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Apr 14 at 5:13 pm.

Jon Lee Barker Jr., age 23, 126 Walker Street, Marietta, for theft and criminal trespassing, both misdemeanors. Barker was arrested on Harmar Drive by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Apr 14 at 6:05 pm.

Anthony Donnel Sims, age 21, 4 Van Buren Street, Zanesville, for driving under a suspended license, speeding, possession of drugs, for not wearing a seat belt and for violating the terms of his probation, all misdemeanors. Sims was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Apr 14 at 11:49 pm.
