On 31 Mar 14 Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Reba D. Parsons, age 21, 214 Greenland Drive, Washington, WV, for traveling 67 mph in a 50 mph zone. Sgt. Mankins stopped Ms. Parsons on US 50 near Braun Road in Belpre Township.

On 31 Mar 14 Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Steven L. Osborne, age 39, 529 Federal Road, Little Hocking, for traveling 68 mph in a 50 mph zone. Sgt. Mankins stopped Mr. Osborne on US 50 near Braun Road in Belpre Township.

On 31 Mar 14 Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Janelle A. Pugh, age 19, 1490 Pugh Road, Stockport, for traveling 68 mph in a 55 mph zone. Sgt. Mankins stopped Ms. Pugh on State Route 60 near milepost thirteen in Adams Township.

On 31 Mar 14 Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Bennie L. Lewelling Jr., age 19, 18140 State Route 339, Waterford, for not wearing a seat belt. Sgt. Mankins originally stopped Mr. Lewelling for speeding on State Route 60 near milepost twenty in Waterford Township.

On 31 Mar 14 Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to David M. Montgomery, age 32, 26 Alexandria Drive, Williamstown, for traveling 77 mph in a 55 mph zone. Sgt. Mankins stopped Mr. Montgomery on State Route 60 near milepost eight in Muskingum Township.

On 31 Mar 14 multiple truck drivers reported a resident on Back Road in Macksburg parks her vehicle in the roadway and impedes their travel. The suspect, Ellen Howard, age 57, 10 Back Road, said she routinely parks her vehicle in the road in an attempt to keep the trucks from stirring up dust. Ms. Howard also stated her home accumulates dust when the trucks pass and said that she will continue to attempt to control the trucks to keep down the dust level. Deputy Sheriffs Augenstein and Call informed Ms. Howard that if she did not cease her actions she would be charged with disorderly conduct. After responding to another complaint involving Ms. Howard, Deputy Call requested a summons for Ms. Howard for disorderly conduct. Deputy Call further advised Ms. Howard that her continued actions in the future could subject her to arrest.

On 31 Mar 14 a forty-one year old Newport resident reported an acquaintance knocked on his front door and threatened his wife with a baseball bat. Investigating the claim, Deputy Sheriff McKee determined the incident was a misunderstanding between the victim and alleged suspect that involved both parties’ teenage children. Both parties were advised to cease having contact with the other. Neither party desired to pursue the matter further.
