On 14 Mar 14 Jessica R. Handschumacher, age 22, 1204 Hocking Road, Belpre, reported her sister took her Volkswagen Beetle without permission and has refused her repeated requests to return it. This case remains under investigation (912).

On 14 Mar 14 Jo Anna McKinney, age 26, 310 Main Street, Lowell, reported a riding lawn mower was stolen from her former residence at 971 Tadpole Run Road, Belpre. This case remains under investigation (1104).

On 14 Mar 14 Seth T. Adams, age 29, 955 Mitchell’s Lane, Marietta, reported he recently discovered damage to the windshield and rear passenger side window of his Chevy van. Mr. Adams stated he believed his brother, Roger A. Adams, age 30, 989 Mitchell’s Lane, was responsible for causing the damage because they have been feuding over a woman. Questioned by Deputy Sheriff Reeder, Roger initially denied causing damage to his brother’s vehicle but he later admitted striking the windshield and window with a piece of metal. Consequently, Deputy Reeder charged Roger Adams with criminal damaging.

On 14 Mar 14 the Wesley Fire Department transported Brandon E. O’Brien, age 26, 650 King Avenue, Cutler, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment following an ATV accident. Mr. O’Brien was showing off on the ATV on the side of a hill when he flipped the ATV and fell approximately ten feet over an embankment and into a creek. Mr. O’Brien struck his face on the rocks in the creek bed but did not lose consciousness. Though he did not suffer life threatening injuries, Mr. O’Brien may require oral surgery in the future (1090).

On 14 Mar 14 a neighbor reported Terry Casto, age 62, 575 Michaelis Road, Marietta, has multiple junk cars, numerous old tires and miscellaneous trash scattered throughout his yard. The neighbor believed several of the cars parked along the roadway could potentially be a traffic hazard. This case remains under investigation (597).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Bruce Walter Kohler, age 53, 7802 Brittany Drive NE, North Canton, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Kohler was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Dennison of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Mar 14 at 9:55 am.

Curtis Jay Noel, age 52, 255 Arends Ridge Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Noel was arrested at the office of Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Mar 14 at 9:55 am.

Brandon Storm Shaffer, age 21, 720 Orchard Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation and for failure to appear, both misdemeanors. Shaffer was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Dennison of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Mar 14 at 10:06 am.

Regina Lisa Clark, age 42, 205 Third Street, Beverly, for being a fugitive from justice, a felony. Clark was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff McPeek and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Mar 14 at 12:50 pm.
