On 8 Mar 14 Rick McKitrick, age 31, 29465 State
Route 7, Marietta, reported an acquaintance took his 1999 Chevy
Malibu without permission on 6 Mar. The acquaintance contacted
Mr. McKitrick after the vehicle broke down on I-70 west of Zanesville.
Mr. McKitrick initially agreed to split towing charges with
his acquaintance and declined to pursue charges. However, when
he learned the towing bill was over $250 he changed his mind.
This case remains under investigation (910).
On 8 Mar 14 the owner of Sponey’s IGA,
411 Fifth Street, Beverly, reported a customer left the store
without paying for multiple items. The owner stated Treva Johnson,
age 58, 1961 Swift Road, Waterford, paid for orange juice and
a pound of bacon but when he confronted her outside the store
she had four pounds of bacon, drain cleaner and butter concealed
in her purse. Though Ms. Johnson would not admit planning to
shoplift the items, her very large purse was nearly empty without
the shoplifted items in it. Ms. Johnson also admitted to shoplifting
from the store an additional eight or nine times during the
past year. Consequently, Deputy Sheriff Carr arrested Ms. Johnson
for theft and transported her to the Washington County Jail.
The approximate value of the shoplifted items is $14.
On 8 Mar 14 Deputy Sheriff McKee issued a citation
to Jonathan D. Seevers, age 21, 270 Mile Run Road, Marietta,
for operating a vehicle with expired license plates. Deputy
McKee stopped Mr. Seevers on Pike Street in Marietta.
On 8 Mar 14 a forty year old Whipple resident
reported her seventeen year old son fails to obey house rules
and his curfew and that he has only been home on two occasions
during the past week. This case remains under investigation
On 8 Mar 14 Lt. Norman arrested Michael B.
Page, age 47, 117 Wells Avenue Apt. B, Marietta, for disorderly
conduct by intoxication. En route to a different call where
Mr. Page was the alleged suspect, Lt. Norman found Mr. Page
walking near the intersection of State Route 60 and Arends Ridge
Road. Mr. Page had a strong odor of alcohol, had glassy, bloodshot
eyes and was unsteady on his feet. At the Washington County
Jail, Mr. Page tested .236 BAC. Lt. Norman determined no crime
occurred in the incident in which Mr. Page was a suspect.
On 8 Mar 14 Marquie Brooker, age 26, 108 Harmar
Street, Marietta, reported her purse and wallet were stolen
from her vehicle while she was inside the K of C Hall at 17472
State Route 676, Marietta, between 3:30 pm and 9:30 pm. This
case remains under investigation (132).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Tytus Lamarr Shields, age 25, 906 Fifth Street,
Marietta, for OVI, for operating a vehicle with an expired license,
for speeding and for not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors.
Shields was arrested in Belpre by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Mar 14 at
Treva Jo Johnson, age 58, 1961 Swift Road,
Waterford, for theft, a misdemeanor. Johnson was arrested at
Sponey’s IGA by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 8 Mar 14 at 1:45 pm.
Richard Warren Evans, age 51, 812 Clement Avenue
Apt. B, Belpre, for failing to confine/restrain a dog, a misdemeanor.
Evans was arrested on Clement Avenue in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff
White and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Mar
14 at 6:00 pm.
Michael Brian Page, age 47, 117 Wells Avenue
Apt. B, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a
misdemeanor. Page was arrested on Arends Ridge Road by Lt. Norman
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 8 Mar 14 at 7:42 pm.
