On 16 Feb 14 Samantha Smith, age 23, 30 Abicht
Drive, Newport, reported her live-in boyfriend, Matthew Lambert,
age 25, assaulted her. Arguing about who would care for the
couple’s four children while the other ran errands, Mr.
Lambert struck Ms. Smith, pulled her hair and shoved her to
the floor. Ms. Smith admitted to retaliating against Mr. Lambert
by swinging a belt but she said she did not know if the belt
struck him. When Deputies informed Mr. Lambert he was under
arrest for domestic violence and attempted to handcuff him,
he lunged forward and crashed his head into the drywall of a
nearby wall. Mr. Lambert was subsequently subdued and transported
to the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Kathy Jean McDonald, age 49, 1889 N. Pleasant
Highway, Saint Marys, for OVI, for not wearing a seat belt,
for not using a child restraint, for driving outside the marked
lanes of travel, for being in possession of an open container
of alcohol and for two counts of child endangering, all misdemeanors.
McDonald was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb
14 at 11:00 am.
William Ronald Talkington, age 27, 340 Sharon
Drive, Parkersburg, for domestic violence and breach of recognizance,
both misdemeanors. Talkington was arrested by a bail bondsman
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb 14 at
Matthew Wayne Lambert, age 25, 30 Abicht Road,
Newport, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Lambert was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Hunter and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb 14 at 7:46 pm.
Jeremy Eugene O’Brien, age 29, 331 Hill
Road, Cutler, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. O’Brien
was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff McPeek and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb 14 at 11:28 pm.
