On 12 Feb 14 Deputy Sheriff Carr requested
a warrant for Bryan L. Eddy, age 23, 3053 Archers Fork Road,
New Matamoras, for theft. Almost a week earlier Mr. Eddy’s
girlfriend’s grandmother, Betty J. Lewis, age 69, 209
Masonic Park Road, Marietta, reported numerous articles of jewelry,
including rings, earrings and a watch, were stolen from her
home. Deputy Carr located the items at a pawn shop and matched
them with a ticket bearing Mr. Eddy’s name and identification
On 12 Feb 14 Deputy Sheriff Metts arrested
a seventeen year old Belpre resident on multiple counts of delinquency
by menacing. Following a disagreement with a teacher’s
aide, the Washington County Career Center student threatened
to shoot the aide and threatened to beat up the school’s
principal. Two students present in the classroom when the suspect
made the threat said their classmate’s comments caused
them to fear for their safety.
On 12 Feb 14 Russell Haverty, age 44, 264 Radabaugh
Road, Marietta, reported his girlfriend took his 2002 Pontiac
Bonneville without permission and has ignored his repeated pleas
to return it. This case remains under investigation (129).
On 12 Feb 14 a fifteen year old New Matamoras
resident reported for the past several months she has been receiving
threatening messages through a variety of media from an ex-boyfriend
she dated while she lived in Florida. The suspect has threatened
to kill the victim and her family and also to blow up their
home. This case remains under investigation (113).
On 12 Feb 14 a fifty-two year old Marietta
resident reported her sixteen year old foster child was scratching
her own arms, pulling out her hair and attempted to climb out
of a window. The juvenile suffers from some mental illness and
was reportedly angry that her foster mother took away her mobile
phone. Deputy Sheriff McKee determined no criminal act occurred.
On 12 Feb 14 Deputy Sheriff McConnell arrested
Gary L. Waybright Jr., age 45, 1165 Browns Road, Marietta, for
criminal mischief and for three counts of menacing. Mr. Waybright
parked a dump truck and blocked oil well equipment at a site
on the 400 block of Dixon Ridge Road in Adams Township. Using
a backhoe, Mr. Waybright also blocked an access road at the
same location. While at the scene Mr. Waybright commented to
three oil well workers that if they attempted to leave he would
shoot them. All three workers said that Mr. Waybright’s
comments cased them to fear for their safety.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Michelle Lee Thompson, age 39, 117 Dean Street,
Marietta, for a felony charge of OVI and for misdemeanor charges
of driving under an OVI suspended license and failure to control.
Thompson was arrested on Stanleyville Road by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 12 Feb 14 at 2:45 am.
Hollie Nicole Fox, age 28, 2850 Ackley Road,
Guysville, for a felony charge of improper handling of a firearm
in a motor vehicle and for misdemeanor charges of speeding and
driving under a suspended license. Fox was arrested on State
Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 12 Feb 14 at 11:57 am.
Sony Carlos Love, age 32, 9550 State Route
550, Vincent, for violating the terms of his parole, a felony.
Love was arrested at the Adult Parole Office by Deputy Sheriff
Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Feb
14 at 3:54 pm.
Amanda Asia Wallace, age 19, 231 E. Faye Avenue,
Marietta, for two misdemeanor counts of theft. Wallace was arrested
at her residence by Patrolman Warden of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
12 Feb 14 at 5:26 pm.
