On 26 Jan 14 Deputies and Detectives responded to the scene of death of a fifty-one year old Marietta resident. Though no foul play is suspected in the woman’s death, this case remains under investigation.

On 26 Jan 14 Melissa D. Williams, age 37, 1450 Rocky Point Road, Fleming, reported she was traveling in the county upon her return from a trip when she noticed that her estranged husband, Kurt Williams, age 33, 5137 Bull Creek Road, Parkersburg, was following her. Ms. Williams said her husband threatened to harm himself if she would not allow him to see their child and she feared what he might do while he followed her in his vehicle. Mr. Williams followed his wife to the Sheriff’s Office, at which time Deputy Sheriff Augenstein spoke to him and ordered him to stop following his wife. When Ms. Williams departed the Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Williams repeatedly phoned her and continued to follow her in his vehicle. Eventually, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Mr. Williams’ vehicle on State Route 7 in Warren Township and arrested him for domestic violence. For ignoring the order to stop following his wife, Mr. Williams was also charged with failing to cease and desist.

On 26 Jan 14 a Marietta resident reported for the past year and a half his wife and two teenage daughters have been receiving vulgar and sexually explicit phone calls from an unknown male who blocks his number. This case remains under investigation (113).
