On 25 Jan 14 Julie Bixler, age 45, 213 B Fourth Street, Lowell, reported she was involved in an altercation with her sister, Cynthia M. Grant, age 47, 103 D Dale Street, Marietta. Angry that she believed her sister brought bed bugs into her home, Ms. Bixler began yelling at Ms. Grant. Ms. Bixler said while she was yelling, Ms. Grant stood from her seat and slapped her in the face. Ms. Bixler did not retaliate although she did say she wanted to strike her sister. Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Carr requested summonses for Ms. Bixler and Ms. Grant for disorderly conduct.

On 25 Jan 14 Glenda Blake, age 52, 989 Mitchells Lane, Marietta, reported she was away from her home for two hours that evening and during that timeframe an unknown suspect(s) kicked open the door to the residence. At this time it does not appear any property was stolen. This case remains under investigation (113).

On 25 Jan 14 Seth M. Smith, age 27, 201 Luke Chute Road, Waterford, reported he and his girlfriend were consuming alcohol that evening when an argument over an alleged infidelity erupted. Following the argument, Mr. Smith was seated in his truck when his girlfriend exited his residence and broke the headlight and mirror on the driver’s side of his truck. Mr. Smith declined to pursue charges in the matter.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Dustin Tyler Marcum, age 21, 27335 State Route 7 Lot 8, Marietta, for two misdemeanor counts of violating the terms of his probation. Marcum was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Jan 14 at 6:55 am.

Aaron Paul Brand, age 34, 3000 29th Street, Parkersburg, for driving under an OVI suspended license and failure to control, both misdemeanors. Brand was arrested on Interstate 77 at exit six by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Jan 14 at 11:21 am.
