On 20 Jan 14 Tosha Hill, age 27, 331 Hill Road, Cutler, reported when she arrived at her home that morning she noticed a window tat was previously shut was open and that there were pry marks on the strike plate of a rear door. This case remains under investigation (790).

On 20 Jan 14 Brenda S. Cramer, age 50, 210 Maple Street, Newport, reported her live-in boyfriend, William Bartges, age 41, has been acting crazy for the past week and that evening he was screaming and yelling at her. Ms. Cramer said Mr. Bartges kicked holes in walls and when he learned law enforcement was en route he asked her to retrieve his firearm. Both Ms. Cramer and her two daughters commented that Mr. Bartges’ actions that evening caused them to fear for their safety. At the scene, Deputy Sheriff McKee noticed tat Mr. Bartges’ speech was slurred, his pupils were dilated, he was sweating, breathing heavily and possibly under the influence of an unknown substance. A search of the home yielded a smoking pipe and four packets that likely contained K2 or bath salts. After being treated at Marietta Memorial Hospital for what he claimed was a panic attack, Mr. Bartges was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail. Additional charges concerning possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia are pending.

On 20 Jan 14 Jack C. Briesemeister, age 46, 2080 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, reported he believes his former live-in girlfriend took some of his belongings while she was removing property from his home. Among the items that Mr. Briesemeister thinks are missing are a circular saw, a box of shotgun shells, dressers, blankets, an empty wallet, a lockbox containing various documents and a canoe. This case remains under investigation (132).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Todd Russell Moore, age 34, 522 Fifth Street, Marietta, for .08 breath OVI and for failure to appear, both misdemeanors. Moore turned himself in to Patrolman Ellenwood at the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jan 14 at 5:42 pm.

William Edward Bartges, age 41, 210 Maple Street, Newport, for a felony charge of domestic violence and a misdemeanor charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle. Bartges was arrested in Newport by Deputy Sheriff McKee and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jan 14 at 7:51 pm.

Michael Carl Bauman, age 43, 1707 Coldon Street, Belpre, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Bauman was arrested on Washington Boulevard by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jan 14 at 9:47 pm.
