On 10 Jan 14 an employee of Washington Electric Cooperative, 440 Highland Ridge Road, Marietta, reported an irate customer phoned the business and made threats. In the past, Mr. Plessinger used vulgar language when he phoned the business and made the same threat to cut down electric poles. On 10 Jan 14 Lt. Norman and Deputy Sheriff White responded to a domestic dispute at the residence of Erika A. Wittekind, age 41, at 44 Browns Lane, Newport. Ms. Wittekind recently separated from her live-in boyfriend and was removing property from the home when her ex-boyfriend began acting aggressively. Reportedly in the midst of a two day drinking binge, Ms. Wittekind’s ex-boyfriend damaged a door, threw items around the house and commented that he was going to hunt her down and kill her. Ms. Wittekind said she did not fear for her safety during the incident and did not want to pursue charges. As a result, Deputy White closed this case as unfounded.

On 10 Jan 14 Sally Roddy, age 42, 2575 Moody Ridge Road, Vincent, reported she was assaulted by her live-in boyfriend, David Burt, age 51. Ms. Roddy said Mr. Burt was intoxicated, grew increasingly belligerent throughout the evening and at one point during an argument he grabbed her by the neck and punched her in the mouth. Thereafter, Mr. Burt exited the residence and kicked a dent in the passenger side door of Ms. Roddy’s vehicle. Confirming Ms. Roddy’s account with witnesses, Deputy Sheriff Metts arrested Mr. Burt for domestic violence and criminal damaging and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
