SUSPECT ARRESTED ON A FELONY THEFT CHARGE

Following an investigation into the misuse of a company's funds, Detective Parks arrested Brooks Espy Jr., age 54, 51 Brandi Drive, Mineral Wells, WV, on a fifth degree felony charge of theft. Utilizing his position in the IT department at Alliance Industries, 27811 State Route 7, Marietta, Mr. Espy made personal purchases using a company credit card that totaled over $4,000. After having the purchases shipped to his or to a relative’s home, Mr. Espy would falsify receipts and invoices to submit to his company’s accounting department indicating he was purchasing electronic items. Among the purchases he made from several online store since 2010 were golf clubs, recreational equipment and Disney items. Mr. Espy is incarcerated in the Washington County Jail in lieu of bond pending his initial court appearance on 19 Dec.

LOWELL RESIDENT ARESTED FOR FELONIOUS ASSAULT

A forty-three year Lowell old resident is facing a second degree felony charge of felonious assault after she attacked her ex-husband with a steak knife early this morning. Teresa D. Tilton and Mark J. Tilton, age 44, both of 12622 State Route 60, Lowell, were arguing over their recent divorce when Ms. Tilton retrieved the knife and slashed at her ex-husband. Mr. Tilton suffered lacerations to his forearms and right palm but did not require medical treatment. Following the attack, Mr. Tilton said he was lying in bed when Ms. Tilton struck him multiple times with a makeup container, leaving a knot on his head. Ms. Tilton, who tested .350 BAC, was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital and held until her blood alcohol concentration was suitable for being booked into the jail. Ms. Tilton is being held without bond in the Washington County Jail pending her initial court appearance.

On 18 Dec 13 Sgt. Anderson requested a summons for Logan A. Smith, age 20, 585 Pugh Road, Stockport, for criminal damaging. Late the previous evening, the Ohio State Highway Patrol arrested Mr. Smith for OVI after he crashed his pickup truck into a ditch near the intersection of Waterford Road and Watertown Road in Waterford Township. Prior to crashing his truck Mr. Eddy damaged a five hole golf course on nearby property owned by Damian Lang, age 48, at 12890 Waterford Road, Waterford. Mr. Smith admitted driving throughout the field, doing donuts and causing a significant amount of damage in the damp ground.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Teresa Denice Tilton, age 43, 12622 State Route 60, Lowell, for felonious assault. Tilton was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Hunter and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Dec 13 at 1:49 am.

Melissa Ann Hennen, age 38, 1121 Putnam Howe Drive, Belpre, of obstruction of justice, a misdemeanor. Hennen was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Cook of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Dec 13 at 3:06 am.

Tiffany Diana Wheaton, age 21, 45 Ruby Drive, Davisville, WV, for two misdemeanor counts of theft. Wheaton was arrested on Buell’s Circle by Sgt. Reeder of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Dec 13 at 8:55 am.

Celoria Pearl Huddleston, age 31, 121 High Street, Marietta, for a felony charge of possession of drugs and a misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business. Huddleston turned herself in to Patrolman Linscott at the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Dec 13 at 1:20 pm.

Brooks Leroy Espy Jr., age 54, 51 Brandi Drive, Mineral Wells, for theft, a felony. Espy was arrested on State Route 7 by Detective Parks of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Dec 13 at 1:27 pm.

Jason Scott Fair, age 40, 1543 Woodruff Road, Vincent, for menacing by stalking, a misdemeanor. Fair was arrested in Marietta by Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Dec 13 at 2:03 pm.

Erica Theandra Kidder, age 21, 1244 Drag Strip Road, Belpre, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Kidder was arrested at the office of Probation Officer E. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Dec 13 at 5:18 pm.

Carlton Douglas Buhrow, age 53, 231 E. Faye Avenue, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Buhrow was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Dec 13 at 7:41 pm.

Benjamin David Williamson, age 24, 307 E. Ninth Street, Williamstown, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Williamson turned himself in to Sgt. Mankins at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Dec 13 at 8:19 pm.
