On 1 Dec 13 Deputy Sheriff Metts requested summonses for Christopher A. Streight, age 27, 221 S. Sixth Street, Marietta, and his ex-wife, Carrie A. Streight, age 30, 3300 State Route 26, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by fighting. The previous day the former couple was involved in a minor scuffle over monetary issues at Ms. Streight’s residence. During the scuffle, Mr. Streight spit in his ex-wife’s face and grabbed her by the throat and Ms. Streight struck her husband several times. Both parties provided similar statements, indicating that they were equally at fault.

On 1 Dec 13 a forty-five year old Marietta resident reported he received a letter from an acquaintance in Florida threatening to accuse him of a sex crime if he did not change his testimony in a criminal case involving one of her family members. Deputy Sheriff Metts forwarded the letter to law enforcement authorities for further investigation.

On 1 Dec 13 Paul Harshberger, age 63, was lighting the furnace of his camper in preparation for deer season when the fire flashed and caught the inside of the camper on fire. Mr. Harshberger said he recently replaced the camper’s gas lines and he believes he may not have installed the lines correctly. The camper was a total loss (129).

On 1 Dec 13 the Warren Fire Department transported a sixty-two year old Elizabeth, IN, resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to a drug overdose. The victim was visiting Veto Road, Marietta, residence and found in a disoriented state. The victim ingested an unknown substance, was combative and uncooperative. As of 5 am the victim was in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit (129).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Brandi Raye Orth, age 36, 173 Packston Avenue, Wheeling, WV, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Orth was arrested near milepost fifteen on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Dec 13 at 1:51 am.

Jonathan Cruz Armina, age 28, 3401 Timmons Lane, Houston, TX, for OVI, driving under a suspended license, driving outside the marked lanes of travel and for failing to transfer license plates, all misdemeanors. Armina was arrested on Muskingum Drive by Patrolman Estes of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Dec 13 at 4:08 am.
