On 27 Oct 13 Patrick Barnett, age 56, 1241 Roddy Road, Vincent, reported on multiple occasions during the past week his neighbors horses and cattle have entered upon and damaged his property. At Mr. Barnett’s property Deputy Sheriff Reeder observed damage to the grass, as well as hoof prints and numerous piles of manure. The owner of the animals, Nicholas A. Proscia, age 37, 1440 Roddy Road, has reportedly been working on his fencing for the past three weeks but has not been successful in confining his animals. Consequently, Deputy Reeder requested a summons for Mr. Proscia for allowing his animals to remain at large.

On 27 Oct 13 Deputy Sheriff Huffer and the Newport Fire Department responded to a vehicle Fire at 1011 Long Run Road, Newport. Natalie J. Seevers, age 31, returned to her home after grocery shopping and parked her 1998 Cadillac near a burn barrel on her property. A short time after Ms. Seevers’ husband began burning trash, the two heard and an explosion and looked outside to see the vehicle on fire. The fire, which was deemed accidental, caused severe damage to the vehicle.

On 27 Oct 13 Christopher Reed, age 42, 571 Swift Road, Waterford, reported his son, Tyler, age 22, assaulted him. Mr. Reed said he was playing cards with his son and a group of friends and consuming alcohol when his son became increasingly upset over the card game. The younger Reed started arguments with other card players and at one point tackled his father to the floor. He then punched his father several times, choked him and gouged his right eye. A witness separated the two for a time but the younger Reed charged at his father at a short time later. Tyler drove away from the home shortly thereafter and could not be located. Consequently, Sgt. Anderson requested a warrant for Tyler for domestic violence.

On 27 Oct 13 Mike Moore, age 54, 1470 Killwell Run Road, Marietta, reported sometime between 21 Oct and 27 Oct an unknown suspect(s) entered five semi-trailers he uses as storage on his property and stole a number of items. Stolen from the trailers were five semi wheels, four semi tires, five electric motors, a steering column, and other semi vehicle parts. The total value of the stolen items is approximately $4,785. This case remains under investigation (126).

On 27 Oct 13 Larry E. Richards, age 68, 1340 Burnfield Road, Belpre, reported he recently discovered about half of his recently filled prescription for Vicodin were missing. This case remains under investigation (126).

On 27 Oct 13 Debra L. Pryor, age 42, 120 Mitchell Drive, Newport, reported she believes her son stole numerous Vicodin and Adderall pills when he visited her home unannounced that afternoon. This case remains under investigation (126).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Chad Robert Carpenter, age 28, 112 Ellsworth Avenue, Marietta, for OVI, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug abuse instruments, all misdemeanors. Carpenter was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Heddleston of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Oct 13 at 3:19 am.

Christopher Levi Baker, age 23, 8950 Skyrock Court, Columbia, MD, for driving under a suspended license and for contemp of a court order, both misdemeanors. Baker was arrested near milepost eight on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Oct 13 at 4:26 am.

Adam Lee Cook, age 27, 760 Greene Street, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Cook was arrested on Butler Street by Patrolman Kramer of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Oct 13 at 4:30 am.
