Archive of 10-18-13

On 18 Oct 13 the Beverly-Waterford Fire Department transported Carl V. Porter, age 56, 12787 State Route 676, Waterford, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to burns on his legs. Mr. Porter had just lit a cigarette when oxygen tubing running across his lap caught fire. A nearby family member quickly turned off the oxygen and extinguished the fire. Mr. Porter was released from the hospital several hours later. The fire also caused minor damage to the carpet and a chair in Mr. Porter’s home (790).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Gary Lee Losey II, age 31, 818 Lancaster Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Losey was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Oct 13 at 10:21 am.

Larry Eugene Stevens Jr., age 44, 1585 ½ Coal Street, Chesterhill, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Stevens was arrested in Chesterhill by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Oct 13 at 9:29 pm.
