On 11 Oct 13 Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Elizabeth A. Wright, age 43, 918A Mitchell Avenue, Beverly, for traveling 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. Sgt. Mankins stopped Ms. Wright on State Route 60 near State Route 83 in Waterford Township.

On 11 Oct 13 the Marietta Fire Department transported a seventeen year old Marietta resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to a suspected drug overdose. The victim appeared confused and disoriented at the Washington County Career Center that morning and was reportedly hallucinating. The juvenile, who admitted he was depressed and intended to harm himself, said he ingested several over the counter allergy pills. School officials stated the juvenile would receive a ten day suspension for his actions (1104).

On 11 Oct 13 Arlene West, age 24, 19334 State Route 550, Marietta, reported two acquaintances assaulted her at her residence that afternoon. During an argument over a missing mobile phone, the two acquaintances shoved Ms. West, causing her to fall over a baby gate in her kitchen. Once Ms. West was on the floor, the acquaintances proceeded to punch and kick her. Lt. Gherke is attempting to locate the suspects to obtain their account of the incident. This case remains under investigation..

On 11 Oct 13 Detective Smeeks stopped a vehicle driven by Collin J. Ryan, age 20, 4102 Fairway Drive, Gibsonia, PA, for traveling 75 mph in a 60 mph zone. Questioning Mr. Ryan, Detective Smeeks noticed an odor of burnt marijuana and observed a container of marijuana in Mr. Ryan’s hands. A further consensual search of Mr. Ryan’s vehicle yielded a total of fifty-two grams of marijuana and a marijuana smoking pipe. In addition to being issued a citation for speeding, Mr. Ryan was issued summonses for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

On 11 Oct 13 Detective Smeeks issued a citation to Dakota C. Flournoy, age 22, 3019 Pangborn Road, Decatur, GA, for operating a vehicle with license plates that expired in August 2013. Detective Smeeks stopped Ms. Flournoy on State Route 7 near milepost one in Belpre Township.

On 11 Oct 13 Detective Smeeks issued a citation to Peyton A. Newsom, age 18, 3118 Melrose Court, Anderson, IN, for traveling 75 mph in a 60 mph zone. Detective Smeeks stopped Mr. Newsom on State Route 7 near milepost one in Belpre Township.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Miriam Jean Sergent, age 51, 213 Meigs Street, Marietta, for possession of drugs and for complicity in trafficking in drugs, both felonies. Sergent was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Oct 13 at 12:13 am.

Brian Keith Streight, age 46, 221 S. Sixth Street, Marietta, for two felony counts of possession of drugs. Streight was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Oct 13 at 12:40 am.

John Douglas Pugh, age 33, 312 Matthews Street, Mineral Wells, for possession of drugs, a felony. Pugh was arrested on S. Sixth Street by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Oct 13 at 12:58 am.

Shanna Lee Jewell, age 35, 8920 Gareer Road, McConnelsville, for failure to appear, driving under a suspended license and speeding, all misdemeanors. Jewell was arrested near milepost six on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Oct 13 at 1:23 am.

David Francis Toncray, age 28, 42 Hickory Drive, Little Hocking, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Toncray turned himself in to Corrections Officers and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Oct 13 at 11:42 am.

Randy Messer Jr., age 41, Marietta, for receiving stolen property, a felony. Messer was picked up at the Lake Erie Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff Doak and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Oct 13 at 2:49 pm.

Timothy John Bookman, age 32, 90 Stanley Street, Newport, for possession of drugs, driving under a suspended license, failure to control and two counts of OVI, all misdemeanors. Bookman turned himself in to Deputy Sheriff Holiday and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Oct 13 at 10:29 pm.
