On 1 Oct 13 Lt. Rhodes and Deputy Sheriff Metts responded to a residence on Mayle Ridge Road in Cutler where a fifty-eight year old male reportedly threatened to stab himself. The victim was arguing with his wife over their pending divorce when the victim threatened to harm himself if his wife left. Questioned further, the victim said he was sick of his wife’s mind games and he had no intention of harming himself. Lt. Rhodes and Deputy Metts determined no crime occurred. The victim’s wife agreed to spend the rest of the night elsewhere.

On 1 Oct 13 Sgt. Reeder patrolled State Route 7 in Newport Township in search of a possible impaired driver. Sgt. Reeder located the suspect’s vehicle and observed it weaving in and out of its lane. The driver of the vehicle, Rachel L. Eddy, age 40, 2015 Newells Run Road, Newport, had a strong odor of alcohol and stated she had “a little bit” to drink that evening. When Ms. Eddy exited her vehicle, she stumbled alongside it and nearly fell when she bumped into the vehicle’s trailer hitch. Based on his observations, Sgt. Reeder arrested Ms. Eddy for OVI and transported her to the Washington County Jail. At the jail, Ms. Eddy tested .218 BAC.

On 1 Oct 13 Deputy Sheriff Carr requested a warrant for Keith Grant, age 44, 245 N. Grant Avenue, Columbus, for telecommunications harassment. Mr. Grant was involved in a brief sexual relationship with a forty year old Whipple resident and continued to send her threatening and harassing messages despite being asked to not do so on three occasions.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jennie Iona Poulton, age 34, 2503 Beverly Street, Parkersburg, for theft, a misdemeanor. Poulton was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Hilverding of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Oct 13 at 1:09 pm.

Mark James Hinton, age 33, 109 Elm Street, Belpre, for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor. Hinton was arrested in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff White and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Oct 13 at 6:03 pm.

Justin Alan Hall, age 30, 106 1/2 Montgomery Street, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Hall was arrested on Lancaster Street by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Oct 13 at 7:32 pm.

Kyle Andrew Daugherty, age 19, 410 Franklin Street, Marietta, for breaking and entering and vandalism, both felonies. Daugherty was arrested by Patrolman Gragan at the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Oct 13 at 11:12 pm.
