On 18 Sep 13 a twenty-nine year old New Matamoras resident reported beginning on 10 Sep she began receiving a number of unwanted phone calls and text messages. The victim believes the suspect also used her personal information to change her email and Facebook passwords. This case remains under investigation (113).

On 18 Sep 13 John C. Brown, age 60, 630 Browns Lane, Newport, reported after he evicted the tenants from his rental property at 541 Browns Lane he discovered an unknown white powder around the cap of a water well at the residence. Tests could not identify the substance but it was determined that is was not narcotic and likely not toxic. This case remains under investigation (126).

On 18 Sep 13 Gary L. Waybright Jr., age 44, 1165 Browns Road, Marietta, reported sometime during the past three days an unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered a storage building on his rental property at 405 East Branch Road, Lowell. Stolen from the building were a Kawasaki Mule and a Poulan chainsaw, for a total loss of approximately $14,130. This case remains under investigation (592).

On 18 Sep 13 Deputy Sheriff Hunter arrested Mitchell E. Williams, age 31, 2875 Leith Run Road, New Matamoras, for violating the terms of a protection order. In violation of a protection order that the mother of his child has against him, Mr. Williams contacted the victim at her residence. The victim said Mr. Williams appeared distraught and did not make any threats.

On 18 Sep 13 Lt. Rhodes arrested Eric St. John, age 32, 411 Wood Lane Court, Woodsfield, for OVI, driving under a suspended license and speeding. Traveling southbound on State Route 7 near the Monroe County line, Lt. Rhodes observed Mr. St. John’s vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. When he approached the stopped vehicle, Lt. Rhodes noticed an odor of alcohol. Mr. St. John initially denied consuming any alcohol but later admitted drinking five beers that evening. He subsequently performed poorly on field sobriety tests. At the jail, Mr. St. John tested .096 BAC.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jason Bradley Whitaker, age 35, 22781 State Route 60, Beverly, for operating a vehicle without a license, a misdemeanor. Whitaker was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Honaker of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Sep 13 at 10:02 am.

Mitchell Eugene Williams, age 31, 2875 Leith Run Road, New Matamoras, for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor. Williams was arrested in New Matamoras by Deputy Sheriff Hunter and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Sep 13 at 7:00 pm.
